The Neighborhood MC1 Telephone Co. The Neighborhood Built By MC1 ripoff company cut off my long distance, refused to unblock my L.D service, lied regarding requesting payment, wasted hours of time Atlanta, Iowa City Iowa Nationwide
About one month ago I switched from Bell south to The Neighborhood MCI to try to save money on my long distance telephone calls. I speak frequently to my family in Canada, My mother,almost 90,waits for my calls. I received my first billing and within two days, sent my paymment in the form of a check.
This morning I tried to call Chicago, (a sick friend),found my line was blocked. I spent the entire afternoon trying to get the line unblocked so I could call long distance, but was told that my long distance record was being questioned due to the fact that there were several calls to Canada. I asked if this was some new government regulation and was told it was company policy. I couldn't believe it.
I was switched from one department to another, put on hold so that Bell south could be contacted as to my payment history(twice) and then because Bell South couldn't legally reveal my payment history, even though I assured them they could have any information they wanted,MCI told me I would not have the block removed from my long distance until they receieved my check, which could take days.
Finally, I paid the phone bill by credit card AGAIN by phone so I could have my line unblocked and then they informed me it could take 24 hours to unblock it.Further more, I was lied about by one of the customer service people in the company. This is the most disgusting treatment I have ever encountered as a customer. I believe it was illegal to block my line. I do not recommend MCI to anyone and I am searching for another credible company.
