I would like to report about the http://www.thewholesaleforums.co.uk, this site claims that it is like a community and helps wholesellers across the glob to identify right buyer and seller, but once you register and try to post something they ask you to become paid member or advertise, I happened to come across such an incident.

1) I got registered at this forum, and i tried offer some help as per the options give to me but in return I got an email from a moderator Garrry Sweetman saying that this is considered as a spam or an advertising post
I replied to them mentioning that they must read the entire article first, and later I requested them to un-register my name and my company name from their site, because i felt somewhat weird kind of approach from that website.

after approximately 12 days I again received an email from the forum saying that i need to pay for advertising if I wanted to keep my account alive with them, however it is very strange that  a site which claims to have helped thousands of trader world wide repeatedly ask for advertising fund or fee even if the user/customer does not want to be registered with them any more.

I then started digging more for the sites moderator named Garry Sweetman and found that he runs a site where all 2nd hand stuff is being sold, the guy itself in his photo graph posted on the site looks like street thug, in short he doesn't appear to be looking like a professional from wholesale company. (((link redacted)))

I also found one very interesting fact that members whose opinions are posted and advertised  over this forum do not have proper address or website or some information of professional or genuine business setup.

however everything said and done i request all genuine wholesalers to check and verify about this forum and remain away from this forum, there are lots of genuine B2B commercial site in the world who will upfront ask you for their membership with the clear intention and I have also seen that the professional B2B sites or market places have big companies and genuine companies as their members with valid telephone numbers and proper contact detail links.

I would also like to ask http://www.thewholesaleforums.co.uk/blog/about/ to provide their D&B number for their users to verify how genuine this company is.

As explained by an emplyee of The Wholesale Forums above, their terms are indeed available before signing up and this does include their rules regarding advertising.

Members cannot sign up unless they tick a box to explicitely declare that they have both read and understood them, therefore, this report is nothing but sour grapes because you agreed to something which it seems rather obvious that you did not read, or had read and then forgotten.

There are many thousands of people that do gain access to genuine advice completely free and no payment is required if you have a business, only if you wish to advertise it via the forums, therefore, it uis a free resource for advice as mentioned by a staff member above.

For some reason you alienated me as the issuer of the warning even though the rules are there for everybody and it wasn't personal, that ios until you made it so and then went on to personally insult me based on my photograph and saying that I looked like a street thug, thus again, proving that you simply do not read terms, as the terms that you agreed to upon by posting your report here state that you cannot discriminate, or make speculation or personal remarks without facts.

And the fact is, you know nothing about me, have never dealt with me or any of my businesses personally, if you had then you would know that the service I provide are not that of a thug, but that of a professional and I have had many comments and recommendations reflecting this.

Yes, one of my businesses at that time was selling used and new items, although this really bears no relevance to your report, other than to further discriminate, not that I would as I don't discriminate, but if I were to say you seemed like a terrorist based on location that would be deemed prejudice and would have been removed and rightly so, but then again, I do not judge people based on anything other than fact, maybe you should show the same courtesy as you would expect to receive and everybody should be entitled to, especially in todays sosciety.

Although I do not know why you felt the need to pick me out to "do more digging" to begin with, I do not own The Wholesale Forums, nor do I make the rules, nor do I receive any remuneration for people that take out advertising memberships, nor do I claim to be or do any of the above, my role there is as a voluntary (unpaid) moderator, as in somebody who gives up some of my free time to help ensure that rules are followed and help advise members as to the running of their respective businesses.

I cannot comment further as any other communication made with the wholesale forums I would not have even seen, as a voluntary moderator my access is limited, therefore please refer to the staff member above who may be able to advise further.

Hi Ashwin,

The Wholesale Forums is indeed a community of business owners providing helpful advice to all

members of the forum. Registering an account in the forum including sharing advice and discussions

among community members is free. However any form of advertising is a privilege for community

advertisers who registered and paid the membership fee to become one.

Regarding verifying advertisers, we take up information of all our advertisers, we verify who they say

they are and hold their information on record for the entirety of their membership. Whilst this is a very

basic form of due-diligence it assists our members. Additionally we always advise our members that as a

buyer, it is their responsibility to practice due diligence when dealing with advertisers on The Wholesale

Forums.

Lastly please note that upon your registration, you have agreed to our terms that you may not advertise

in our site in any way, thus a warning was given in your account due to breaking the rules you agreed

upon.
