Thrifty Car Sales Thrifty sold me a clunker Clearwater Florida
I purchased a car from Thrifty in January of 2009. Day one of driving my new car, I noticed something definitely wrong with the engine. Went to Thrifty explained to the girl at front desk and expressed my concerns in which she said I noticed the same thing when I drove it and it will be taken care of.
Took my car in for repairs only to find out it needed new motor mounts and a new transmission. To their credit they did repair it and it was returned to me three and a half months later. They also did provide me with eight different loaner cars while my car was being repaired. They were all clunkers with horrible problems including rat infestation and worse. One was even repossessed from my drive way.
Got my car back in May. Immediately needed four new tires. Last week while driving my car home from work, the dash board lit up with warning lights. My husband called Thrifty and Omar said sure bring the car in and we will take a look at it. Next day I call to talk to Omar and was told flat out they will not look at it and I need to take it to Volkswagon and have them look at it.
I did as told only to find out that my lovely new car now needs a water pump, a thermometer, two new fans, a battery, an alternator and a pulley. I obviously cannot afford to have the repairs done so I will go without a car.
I have contacted all two local news channels and an attorney which told me I could sue them for consumer fraud.
Regardless they took advantage of me. They ripped me off and sold me a car that they knew was not suitable for the road.
One employee even told me he felt sorry for me and could not believe I was putting up with my treatment. Like I told him I really loved my car and wanted to believe that people were not ripping me off. He responded by telling me they rip everyone off.
I don't know what to do other than share this awful event with EVERYONE!
