Tiffany Albrecht, Irresponsible Teacher Makes Bullies Seem Like Powder Puffs, Surprise, Arizona
Tiffany Albrecht is a long-term substitute teacher that has been utilized by the Dysart School District. In the Fall of 2011, and beginning of 2012, she served as a substitute at Valley Vista High School as a Ceramics teacher.
One of her policies to enable students to "check-out" tools for their class is to take a piece of valuable collateral. In January 2012, she was accepting cell phones in exchange for these tools. This practice was clearly against district rules.
My daughter, like 14 other students in the classroom, left her cell phone in a basket on the teachers desk in exchange for a putty-knife. While the phone was in the possession of the teacher, it was stolen. I had no knowledge that my daughter had been required to leave her valuables as collateral. The Dysart School District is utilizing it's insurance to cover the cost of the phone, acknowledging that Ms. Albrecht was at fault, as she ignored the rules about touching student's electronics.
What makes this teacher earn her bad review is the fact that 1) she called my daughter a liar, that my daughter never left her cell phone. (Even though my daughter had the putty knife in hand to show she had indeed checked out a tool), 2) started talking about my daughter to other students (while in my daughter's presence, which was unprofessional and unneccesary) 3) gave my daughter an "F" on the project turned in shortly after the theft. It was the first "F" my daughter had received in that class since starting it in August of 2011, and 4) when the project was returned to my daughter, it was smashed into pieces. (The teacher had it in her possession when it got "smashed".)
Tiffany Albrecht is a unprofessional, immature teacher and should not be allowed to have access to or influence on our kids.
