Tiger Direct offered computer monitor with internet software for $119.99 plus shipping including guaranteed rebate. I tried to fill out info prior to arrival but had to wait until shipment arrived for all info.
When shipment arrived, I saw that printed info said it would only allow 1 rebate per product despite 1 rebate for monitor, 1 for monitor with software and 1 for software. I could not submit rebate request without agreeing to those terms.
Calling to get this straight, the time went past 33 days (3 days past 30 day limit from date of purchase) and TigerDirect said that they would not honor the rebate then if entered (because of 30 day limit).
Tiger Direct's multiple rebates make the rebate requirements impossible to meet as per their paperwork. The only way to submit the paperwork is to do it incorrectly and to trust them to honor it anyway. HOWEVER, doing a quick internet search revealed an enormous number of complaints against TigerDirect because of their rebate practices.
So, I fell prey to their strategy of making it not only as inconvenient as possible but in this case actually impossible to comply to the letter of their rebate requirements for this sale.
By adding the undesirable software and claiming that it would lower the monitor price $10.00, the actually were able to scam me out of $110.00 extra for a $138.84 monitor.
