Complaint Review: Timothy Mundy - Springfield Missouri

Let me start off by saying Timothy Mundy has rapidly ripped people off. He gave me a fake name of Lee Torrone so when I did my research I couldn't find out anything on the guy. I found a website and a Facebook under Lealta Construction Services LLC which all seemed to check out. Not a lot of reviews but it looked like a new Facebook page so I thought maybe he just started that page. he has several business names. Here's the ones I know thus far; Lealta Construction Services, Mundy Excavating, Tsa Construction, Hartman, and his newest one as of 3/15/16 Tsa Roofing Solutions LLC.

We talked about building a 35x40x12 shop on February 12th, 2016. we discussed everything that I was wanting out of it. He told me that we would have it done on the agreed price of 12,000 cash so he wouldn't have to report it and that would save him 30% of his tax cost so he would be able to do it. We signed a contract that night with a completion date of March 8th, 2016. The building would be as promised; 40x35x12 metal shop building, full electric with separate breakers and 8 total shop lights throughout, one steal side door for access on the south side of the building and a 14x10 steel roll up garage door on the left of the west side along with skylights on the roof for additional lighting. Full gravel driveway with a concrete slab out front and a smooth finish grade. along with me suppling the outside motion lights and the door handle and dead bolt.(which I purchased) He requested material cost down of 7,200 and I made sure he wrote me receipt out for it. He requested 500.00 to pay his guys in the 2nd week. So i did and received a receipt. a week later he said he needed some 2x4's and didn’t have the money for it. So he received another 500.00 for material and wrote me out a receipt.

His lies started right off the bat. he told me that he busted a track on his track loader and he needed to barrow one from my work. So I got him a rental track loader with a auger and bucket attachment, a 1,450 cost. Then he lied about having a trailer to haul it. He had to go rent one. He didn’t call dig right to check the ground for plumbing and electrical. he had a crew member use a hanger and told me that it was a sure thing. which he also lied about. I had to replace the auger bit teeth a 100 charge and 40.00 fuel charge after a week rental. He told me that he would reimburse me for that. Which he didn't. He shorted the gravel guy by 70.00 and he tried to collect it from me.

He told me that KY3 would be at the property to record a demo for his company. Which to my surprise wasn't a lie. However they showed up twice to my house and he wasn't there and there wasn't hardly any work to show, so they left. 

I would ask my girlfriend if there was anyone there and there wasn't on most days and I would text him and he would have a lame excuse like, I'm going thru a divorce, or  custody thing, He even went to the extent to send me a picture of a burning house and told me he was having personal problems. so after we hit the dead line of the 8th of March as signed by both of us on our contracts we don’t have much to show. He blocked me and ignores all of my calls and text. I can't get a hold of him. He's a coward, liar, dream crusher, and worst of all he's a scam artist. 

Here's what’s done; I am left with a structure that measures 43x32x12.5 that was placed in concrete footings with yellow wood that was not pretreated for concrete. it will eat this boards out in the next 5 years. The 2x4 walls are all spaced unevenly so they all have to be redone. He graded the yard at a sloop where the water will run right into the shop. The shop on the north side of the building is actually sitting 4 feet under the ground on that side killing 2 of my trees. there is mounts of dirt all over the yard. he left me with precut 2x4's for the trusses that won't work for the structure.

I have 8,200 out and I don't have enough to finish it. what’s done will have to actually be tore done and started over due to safety concerns and poor workmanship.
