Tony Chevrolet Anchorage Poor Sales Tactics the chevy auto business that doesn't give a dam attempted ripoff false information Anchorage Alaska
We attempted to purchase a new vehicle from this dealership. Since there are only two GM dealerships in the immediate vicinity we are extremely limited as to where to shop.
The sales manager at Tony Chevrolet pressured us to fill out an unnecessary GMAC financing application. I say unnecessary because, as we repeatedly told him, we had a pre-approved loan from our credit union.
It was made clear that if we didn't fill it out, we couldn't buy a vehicle. It was described as a "back-up" plan. I finally relented reluctantly and made the sales manager put it in writing that they would not run a credit report. However, said sales manager wrote that no credit report would be run unless all terms were agreed upon.
I'm glad that the terms were not agreed upon, because we did not want them checking into our credit as this takes points off of our credit report.
The sales manager was condescending and at times gave us information I knew to be false. I used Consumer Reports Pricing service to obtain the price we offered them, and the sales manager said he didn't know where I was getting those numbers and refused to look at the numbers I had in black and white right in front of us.
After we said no to their offer, the sales manager jumped up and dismissed us without a handshake, have nice day, nothing. I would suggest that Anchorage residents go elsewhere, but there's not a lot of places to go unless you want to drive several hours out of town.
