Folks, the training schools don't lease these trucks for the students benefit, they do it to turn a profit on a piece of junk. They know the auction price for the tractor will be crap so they try to unload it on an unsuspecting, uninformed and over-eager student at a nice profit. Even professional drivers won't touch a lease unless it's written to benefit the driver (virtually NEVER happens).
NEVER TAKE THE LEASE...EVER...NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU. Walking away from the school will always be the smart move. You'll get OTR training somewhere else, without the lease.

I have a report on here about what they did to me to. Please check it out.
Anyway, I was there for about 3 months total, including training, waiting about a week and a half after training in the classroom and backing range, etc. I had to wait the extra week and a half for my trainer, the one I drove with, to show up!
When I finally finished all my training, I got my lease truck. They promoted it so well that it actually sounded good and I thought I'd make some really good money.
First week, I didn't have much money and they wanted to send me on a 1600 mile run. They aid it would take about five days to get there and deliver. I said that's fine, but I will need some money just so I can buy food. They said OK and gave me a $50 cash advance.
So I couldn't eat much for the week, but I survived. Then at the end of the week, I was excited, thinking I'd get paid some good money. But I didn't get paid at all! So I called the company, but they almost never pick up the phone. So I got on the qual coms and sent an email. I asked them, "Where's my money?"
They said, they pay a week behind, so next week I will get this week's pay. I just said that's fine. A lot of companies do that. I told them that I would also need another cash advance to get me through the next week. They said that's fine and gave me another $50 advance, so, again I starved for another seven days! But, I suffered through it, thinking, "I was in the Army, I can handle it!
But, the following week, I only got $187.
I was p***ed! I sent them a message saying, "Where is the rest of my money? " I'm addition to those 1600 miles, I dropped off early and they sent me another 1200 miles or so. That adds up to over $2000. I tried to ne nice about it at first. But they gave me dumb excuses and made up some bull and said I had already spent the rest of my pay on fuel!
I said, "No I did not!"
They still wouldn't admit that it was their fault, not mine.
There were a ton of other problems there to.
They constantly sent me "URGENT" messages on Qual Coms. They marked them as urgent and I had to stop and pull over to read them. But I opened the message and it was something stupid and unimportant! Every Time!
Then they gave us unrealistic time limits. They wanted me to drive about 125 miles in 2hrs. Yes,that can be done under perfect conditions at a constant speed of 60 MPH,but they didn't take into consideration, I may have to slow down for weather, traffic, construction, going through town, etc. Well, that time I made it to mu destination with only about 7 minutes remaining of my 11 hrs of legal driving time!
I also have problems with ADHD. They didn't respect that or the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
The last thing that happened there was: They called me back to olathe, KS to give me a little more training to help me learn to use the Qual Coms, because I was having some problems figuring it out. This time they did have a little respect for the ADA.
The training manager, Thomas took me into the class room and there were some people in there who were going to be company drivers, everyone else was picking out their lease trucks.
I made a harmless joke and said,"You guys are the smattering ones!"
Now, he's p***ed. He took me across the street to the lease office and forced me to turn in my lease and get off the property!
That means they also don't believe in the First Amendment!
They paid for my cab to the bus station, but refused to pay for the bus! I had to call my relatives and borrow money for that!
Now they've sent me a bill for over $3,000! Which I refuse to pay, they owe me money, not the other way around! So, I am currently filing bankruptcy now to, thanks to them! They also left me with all my other. Bills that I currently just can't pay!
Lets get a class action suite going against this place!
