Travelers Bank & Trust ripoff of a chargeoff acct in collection, after paid in full refusal to report payment to original company Norcross Georgia
Original purchase was with rooms to go they sublet their accounts to companies such as Citifinancial... After moving my payment coupons stopped coming. The account eventually became derogatory falling into the hands of Travelers Bank. After trying to correct the situation I have payed the account in full and Travelers Bank has refused to make good on their end of receiving the funds. This account now shows derogatory on both Citifinancial and with Travelers Bank. I am still being hit twice on my Credit Report with this same account. There is nothing that Citifinancial can do because they sold my account to Travelers Bank.

I had the same problem on my credit report. Thankfully, the CRA's are very helpful, and know what kind of crap collection companys try to pull. What you need to do is MAIL (no faxes, no email) MAIL them a dispute and attach your documentation of the payment, along with the bills from each of the creditors and HIGHLIGHT the info that ties them together. Write a SHORT letter telling them in as few words as possible what happened. No long explainations, they dont care. Just the facts. They will remove the duplicate charge, and will update the report dates to be accurate. You can print the dispute forms from the internet, or you can just send a letter to each CRA telling them the problems. In my case, I sent a copy of my cancelled check along with the 3 different collection agency hits on my credit and they actually removed all 3 since none of the agencies responded to the dispute. It took 45 days to resolve once they received my letter. Good luck.
