Following is the letter sent to their corporate office:

Thank you for the pre-printed, signed card. It was a thoughtful gesture on your companys part. However, my ability to use your company in the future or provide referrals has been hindered by your staffs inability to, or lack of concern in, providing the basics of customer service.

While I was not home during the move, several individuals were at the home. Although paperwork was not explained to them, this was not a concern for me as your companys reputation was of utmost character at least until this move.

I will not go into the details of what happened as it will only cause me to become angry again. What I will say is that your staff at the Redford office had no desire to resolve the issue, and when I threatened to cancel the credit card transaction, the response was Do that. However, I refused to stoop to his level, and being of integrity and the issue not being $400, I chose not to cancel the transaction but chose to write letters and tell others of my experience with Two Men and A Truck. For example, the movers wrote down items that they did not move. The movers also marked brand new appliances down as worn and/or scratched. There was nicked paint on my brand new front load Maytag washer and the front right leg is missing on my brand new front load Maytag dryer which I purchased in October -- the ones your movers indicated were worn and scratched. I expect a little nick here, and there and was not concerned with the washer. What did it for me was when I did not receive any return calls and had to contact your store three times to see if the dryers leg was left on the truck. The third time your staff person acknowledged my inquiry and became rude and belligerent, quoting me policy about a nick on the washer rather than trying to resolve the issue about the dryers leg.

I will replace the leg on the dryer. However, I will do so at the expense of your companys reputation. Its amazing how empathetic people who are buying homes or moving can be. Do you think these individuals will, or will not be, your customers? And there are others who said I should have spoken to them before using your company as they had similar experiences with broken items, holes torn in walls and missing items. I wonder if the founder of your company had this in mind when it was created.

Nevertheless, thank you but no thank you. I am not a glutton for punishment and refuse to spend future monies to be disrespected, nor will I recommend you to others. In the future, I will use, or recommend, services of other moving companies, as your company is quite inadequate and incompetent when it comes to basic levels of customer service. After all, it was just a leg on a dryer.
