As far as them slowing down due to heat, I fed them, kept the fluids flowing out of my pocket and gave them an 1 1/2 hr break all. but to hear workers start to complain after two hours of working that their feet are hurting and their sitting down every 10 min is ludicrous. But thank you for your opinion and your response.

You started off your statement correctly by stating, you were not there. I did take out additional insurance for the tune of $300.00, they came out the night before to assess the amount of items that needed to be boxed and wrapped, so to show up with no boes then tell me to box it myself and then have no blankets to wrap your furniture, maybe you are used to having other people's bodily fluids in your furniture, along with dirt stains but whether I am paying $100 dollars or 1,500 or $5,000 the level of professionalism should not alter, but thank you for your input. You have a great day.

Of all the posts here that truly qualify as moving nightmares, with irreparably damaged, lost, stolen goods or holdups for more cash at delivery, with goods held for ransom, I gotta tell you, your story is almost laughable. Do you seriously expect moving men not to sweat bullets while working in the heat of a southern July? I'm allowing that a lazy rep at the movers misinformed you of who would do the packing, etc, but in light of the fact you only paid $1500 for a holiday weekend move in the heat of July, that is no way out of line. There are folks crying here that their $1500 move turned into $5000 or more before all was said and done. The men noticeably slowed down as the hours dragged on? Has to be expected in July heat. They're not machines. And they're not office workers in business suits. They're moving men! Try doing their job and see how swift on your feet you'll be after a couple hours. Your almost unique among moving complaints in that they actually offered you some compensation. Did you bother taking out extra insurance to cover damage (including stains)? I'm not dismissing your concerns as totally off the wall - I wasn't there and have no horse in the race - but you are coming across as more unreasonable than the movers in this case. We wouldn't mind knowing the details of your contract with them and what it specified they'd do. Some response from the company as to the miscommunication about breaking down beds, etc, would also be in order. But dollar wise, a 10 plus hour move under conditions where you have to expect movers to work slower and even take more breathers, due to the heat, is not unreasonable.
