Our company moved to a new location that was vacant for about 5 years and had an old ADT alarm system. We called TYCO (the old ADT) about reconnecting this alarm. After 3-4 attempts, they were unable to get the old system to be functional. Ultimately, we selected another company for our alarm. About 6 months after TYCO tried to connect their old alarm, we began to receive billings for monitoring.
Yes, they were asking for money to monitor a system that was not installed! Numerous calls and certified letters to TYCO failed to correct the matter. Customer billing says that they only bill and do not know what is monitored. Now TYCO is robodialing the company to get payment! Business owners - do not even call these people for a quote! It appears as if we are not the only company that has been scammed by TYCO in this way.
