On August 27, 2006 I put the contents of my home in storage at this place. I originally made a reservation for an inside climate controlled unit which I was told they had plenty of. When I arrived they only had outside units. I wanted the inside unit because it was always locked and it wasn't out in the open. I rented the outside drive up unit with the intention of only using it for a month until my apartment was ready.

Before renting the staff informed me that because in the past you were able to drive up swipe your card and access the gate they were having a lot of theft from people who were not customers just getting through the gates and cutting locks off the storage and stealing. But to stop that from happening they required each customer to come inside the office to swipe the card and you would gain access that way. This was supposed to ensure only customers and employees were allowed in the storage area. The storage area can only be accessed during the business hours. Once the office closes no one is able to get in the storage area. So this theft happened while the business was open.

Anyway, while me and 2 of my friends were unloading the truck, one of their employees (Kiesha Mceachron) came to the storage to bring me the contract to sign because she said their printer was acting up. When she arrived she made a comment saying "I sure hope you pay your storage cause if you don't I see some stuff I already want." I looked at her and told her that is something you do not have to worry about because I am not going to be here long.

I returned to my storage on September the 7th to retrieve some clothes for a job interview I had the next day. Closed and locked the storage. I returned on September 16th to put more things into the storage and I tried to access the lock that was on the storage which was not the lock I had purchased on 08/27. I then walked back to the office and informed them that the lock on my storage does not fit my keys and I need the lock cut off because I was afraid my stuff had been stolen. The employees contacted the manager and he instructed them to charge me $25 to do this. I was upset and I asked them my stuff has been possibly stolen why are you trying to charge me $25. I had a friend bring me some bolt cutters. I cut the lock off and all of my belongings had been stolen, all except one mattress, 2 bar stool chairs and some wine glasses. The contents were: a overstuffed couch, a matching overstuffed chair, 36 inch Toshiba tv, one king size bed set and new mattress, a mountain bike, one stainless steel refrigerator, a stainless steel stove, a washer and dryer, 7 pieces of art, 20 full size framed movie posters, coffee table and 2 end tables, 3 boxes of dvd's with 40 in each box, 4 boxes of cd's with 60 in each box, 4 bins of clothes and shoes, 2 boxes of dishes, 1 bin of pots and pans, etc.

I returned back to the office to inform the staff someone had stolen my belonging and all the employees working on that day didn't have any concern about what had happened. I asked them to contact the manager, one employee told me he was gone for the day and he couldn't be reached. Which I found funny, because he was able to be reached just 30 minutes prior when he wanted me to pay $25 to have a lock cut off. I then called the police to make this an official case of theft. The officer went inside and asked the employees some questions and said he finds it hard to believe that a whole truck load of stuff just disappeared. There are cameras located within the rows of this storage area and the employees lied and said that there were no cameras. I repeatedly asked for the manager and I was told to leave the store because they had other customers, it was not their problem. My storage was the only one that was burglarized. If this was random then why weren't other locks cut?

Mine was the only one cut because the person who did this already knew the contents of my storage. I am the only one with the card and the keys to the lock that was purchased. The only person other than myself and my friends that helped me moved who knew the contents of my storage was the employee Kiesha Mceachron.

It crazy that you feel this way because as I recall, I was probably the only employee on the clock that day that symphatized with you in your situation. Everyone was clearly convinced that you staged the burgulary because a co-worker spotted a bolt-cutter in your vehicle. You did it yourself. It wasn't hard for my manager to put the pieces of the puzzle together. I didn't even find out that you had accused me of stealing your belongings until weeks later. Everyone knew I didn't do it without a doubt. But I must say that it hurt my heart to have googled my name, and something like this popped up. That offended me because I was truly concerned about your situation that I even asked my co-workers if the company was going to compensate you for your belongings ( because I truly believed that they should have if you weren't in the wrong). But wether you believe me or not does not matter. I just wish you was worth something so that I could sue you for vandalizing my name on the International Internet. You got me looking like a bad guy and its not even in my nature to do such a wicked act.

I HAVE NO REASON TO SCAM ANYONE! I WORK FOR A LIVING!

Peter from Alabama, I'm sorry to inform you, sir, but I work for a living I have no reason to scam anyone for anything. I have a 50 hour work week, on a good week. Everything that was in that storage was a product of that hard work. I owed no one, all my electronics, furniture, and appliances were PAID IN FULL. No financing, no credit cards, only CASH! Don't you dare tell me that I am trying to scam someone. All I want is my property that is all. Oh yeah, before I filed the orginial report I searched for any other complaints on this facility and no one else has the guts to make a stink but me. I want my property back, all of it, nothing less, nothing more. Help me to understand you said you did a search on my first name? Hmmmm, lets see how many females did you find with my first name? Hundreds, thousands, millions? That remark was not very intelligent. But I have to consider the source, I guess. Look, all I want is my property back or replacements for what was stolen. I am not supposed to have to screen their employees to determine if there are capable of stealing, that was U-Haul's job and they were negligent in doing this. N

I smell a scam ...

Doing a search on the U-Haul Center in question, as well as your first name, produced some interesting information regarding your unsuccessful scam to "cash in" by staging this burglary and attempting to an innocent person as a means of covering your tracks. This has been reported in the Atlanta metro news. Apparently the police did not buy your story any more than anyone else.
