I was getting my car repaired at a local body shop due to an accident I had recently been in. I filed an insurance claim and got my car repaired in couple weeks. Within a day or two I went back to tell them that my sound system has been disconnected by them and they repaired it in one day. Soon after I found my battery cover in my back seat so I went to open the hood to put it back and my hood would only open an inch, the hinge is stuck on a fender bolt and when I tried to talk to them about it wondering what happened they said they didn't open the hood but after I asked them "then how did the battery cover end up in the back seat?" they admitted to opening the hood and said my hood dampers just went bad so I would need to get new ones and they will put them on for me. I went home and ordered new hood dampers from eBay and brought it back to the shop. When I got there I spoke to the same man that I spoke to during the last visit and he said they can repair it but I would have to pay to repair it and my hood may break while trying to do so, now I went to several other shops and they all said that some one or something heavy was sitting on top of the hood and it has nothing to do with the hood dampers, and the original body shop is to blame and is not taking responsibility, this is estimated to be a $700-$1000 job because no one knows how to open the hood without breaking it and I now needed an oil change over 2,000 miles ago.
