Let me 1st start with stating we have been in business since 1961 with the same phone #, same bank, same insurance agent, same accounting firm.....plus many of the same customers & truckers!
It would be very difficult to uphold this reputation & longevity if we were not a company of honor.
The complaint is surely from a disgruntled trucker that surely did not completely uphold their end of the agreement. There are many reasons where final payment may be affected to a trucker, these are listed below.
1- shortages or damages not reported or resolved at time of delivery
2- lack of or improper insurance coverage
3- purchase of load bar at shipper
4- quick pay
5- advance fee
Our rate confirmation is clearly noted 'We are required by our insurance carrier to retain a certificate of insurance from each carrier....To avoid any possible delay in payment, please have your insurance updated as mentioned...If at time of final settlement your insurance is not updated, we will withhold up to 20% of your final pay...Any withholdings will be released to your company only if above requirements are fulfilled.'
This is the main reason why some truckers do not get paid the full amount, but be aware that the requirements are on the confirmation & at least 2 requests are sent prior to payment. Plus the trucker has 60 days following payment to get all withholdings reimbursed...all they need to do is furnish us a certificate of insurance....very simple & so many refuse to or can't since they may actually not have insurance coverage.
We pay our truckers in less than 14 days on average. We have a credit history spanning 52+ years....we only expect our truckers to maintain the insurance the law mandates them to & to verify that with a certificate.
I welcome the name of the trucker that made this complaint & I'm sure that I can show where the trucker was the party that is at fault & refuses to fulfill their obligation to the rate agreement that was signed by all.
