I sent a fragile package through the United States Post Office in Arizona and insured this package for $700.00.  When the package arrived at it's destination in Rochester New York damaged I proceeded to file a claim online.  I had started the claim and when I went back to finish I couldn't remember the password.  So I instructed the the recipient to bring the package to her local post office which is located on Lexington Avenue, where the manager Christy P. SCS accepted the merchandise and all original documents.  The recipient was told by this manager that the claim was indeed filed within the time frame and she would finish the claim. 

After a couple of months, I called the claims department and was told by Autria Finley, my claim fell short of the allotted time frame.  I disputed this in a letter sent by the postal service.  I phoned the Lexington Avenue branch and was told my package and all documents weren't at their locatioin.  I then was told that I needed to supply copies of the original documents which I did to Gregory P. a Sr. Judicator.   Gregory P. stated he never received the faxes from me so I had the person who sent the faxes sign them and re-fax.  He phoned me and told me that I needed additional documentation, such as the bill of sale and a letter from the Lexington Avenue branch stating that they didn't have the packaging at their location, which I did.  I had the manager Tony at that branch fax the letter to Gregory P and also a copy to myself.  Gregory P. told me that the letter from the manager Tony was not on Postal letterhead and was unexceptable. 

After not hearing from this person I proceeded to write to the Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, who proceeded to send my complaint to Nadine Munson at the 475 E'Lafont address.  I received a letter from her stating that no communication was ever received from me.  I phoned the insurance complaint department and spoke with someone there stating that I did indeed speak with Gregory P. and had faxed him all documents requested.  I told her I didn't appreciate his lying and sent copies of all documents and faxes to Nadine Munson, certified mail, signature receipt delivery conformation.  This was signed for on April 25,2012.  The only reason I know this is that I checked the tracking number online as I never received my copy back from them.

I guess the post office can decide who gets their cards back.  This is a service I paid for so again I was ripped off by the postal service.  On May 11,2012 I spoke with a Ms. Williams, account specialist and was told that the copy of my bill of sale was not notorized and that I needed to supply this.  I explained to her that they lost the original which was notorized.  She would not this, so I told her that in order to get this notorized again I would have to travel to New York.  And that it would be on the United States Postal Service to reimburse me all expenses.

I did indeed travel to Rochester New York and went to the Lexington Avenue branch and spoke with the Joe C. and then Tom the Sr. manager.  Showing them my signed copy of the receipt for articles damaged in the mail and asked for my package and all original documents since the postal service didn't want to pay my claim these items belonged to me.  I was told by Tom that the package and documents were not at their location.  I asked for and received from him a letter on Postal letterhead stating this.

I also met with the recipient whom I had reimbursed her money for damaged item and a notary and got my copy of the original bill of sale notorized and also a letter describing the item.  The notary was also kind enough to give me a letter stating that he notorized the documents for me.

Upon returning to Arizona I faxed the notorized copy of bill of sale along with the letter from the postmaster and a total of my expenses to Gregory P. asking him to forward to Nadine Munson.  I also stated I would release all original receipts for travel upon reimbursement for all expenses including the original amount of claim and a phone number I could be reached at.  My total so far is $2,972.57, not counting the new windshield I had to have installed due to something hitting it in Oklahoma or the tires I had to purchase to return home.  I stated in my letter that if a check was not forthcoming by July 8, 2012 I would include these items in the lawsuit I plan to file against the United States Postal Service. 

I have excellent documentation, pictures of damaged item and packaging. 

I guess the postal service didn't think I would travel to New York, and have not heard a word from anybody regarding my claim. 

If anyone reading this can tell me where to have somebody served I would appreciate it as I fully intend to sue the United States Postal Service for my time and expenses.  I have no doubt that since I have signed conformation stating they received my merchandise and lost it that I will be victorious in my lawsuit.

I also plan to contact my local news media.  Think the Fed-ex guy who threw the computer over a fence at Christmas got a bad rap?  I'm going to do a U-Tube video of my pictures and paperwork and see who is the winner....I think the Postal Service will get that award.
