An individual named Frank Lavoie made numerous telemarketing phone calls to me for a guide that I don't believe even exists. I do not take solicitation calls especially when I don't know what the company is or when I've never done advertising with these folks before.
The company, Universal Media, suggest their office is listed with the Better Business Bureau and I can find no such listing. After many calls from this individual, most of which were him telling me in my recorded voice mail that we had made an order and I need to call him back, which was false, he was able to get someone else on the phone. My employee told me that whoever called had made it sound as if we had done this listing in year's past with them and he was only trying to finalize an order that he and I had talked about. All of which is completely false.
My employee is one of the sweetest young ladies who handles our reservations. He made it sound as if I had asked for this and she, of course, asked him to send whatever he needed to her. They confirmed the address to send an invoice (which she would know), asked her to if there was a purchase order to include (which she would have no idea), and how much the listing was (again, she would have no idea).
This person taped a small portion of this phone call of which I just wrote about above and the rest is not available. The only portion recorded was where they took advantage of this young lady as if she finalized the order when all she did was ask them to send the final paperwork and she tried to handle it. I can find no listing for this company, I can find nothing in regards to this "guide" they are producing, and they are certainly not working in a fair and business like way.
We will not be paying this bill because of collusion, it's the best I can describe their actions. I have never seen the guide, we have never provided this company with any information to complete a "guide" listing. The company such as this give people who are trying to make an honest living a bad rap. I also believe we are on the no call list as well.
The website is listed under a Universal Media, with Registrant names listed which I will not include but are easy to locate. Their address they show is a PO Box of PO Box 32517 CSP Lucerne Montreal, QC H3R 3L7 Canada, and a physical address of 6750 Ave De L esplanade #340 Montreal, Quebec J7W0B4 Canada. i see the following phone numbers of this company of 514-227-0729, 866-343-2140, and a fax number of 514-227-0734. Their website address is www.universalmedia.biz
It says they also have another name, CENTRE INTERNATIONAL DE FOURNITURE DE BUREAU INC. and it is an office supply business at the address of 270-5200 rue de la Savane Montréal (Québec) H4P2M8 Canada. Sadly, We're left with little choice but to make sure it does not happen to others.

I got a call almost identical to the details you provided. I went through with it but started to get suspicious afterwards - all the details they provided were ones they could have found out online about my workplace and as far as I can find we have no records of having paid them before.
My suspicions weren't helped by visiting their website and seeing the information is hidden behind a paywall. I didn't provide a purchase order but I did instruct them to put my name in the attention line.
I plan on talking about it with my bosses when they come back in.
