Every UPS SHIPPER IS HIT WITH "adjustment charges" on just about every bill. Most of these charges are INCORRECT and shippers are getting ripped off...for example, if you take your packages to a UPS store, and charge the shipping to your account, you will be hit with a Pick Up charge of 17.00, even if you put the correct address, you will be hit with a 5.00 address correction charge, if you file a claim, UPS will go to your customer, pick up the package for inspection, then deny the claim, return the package to you and charge you the freight to pick up the package...even though it was their idea, if your package is largeer than even one inch (as determined by their computer), you can be hit with a 40.00 charge for an oversized box...
most of the time, we have used correct size boxes, but their computerized system will determine in their favour the additional charge, several boxes will result in "additional handling charges" of 6.00, if your credit card is declined you will be hit with a 10.00 decline charge, even though you are shipping to a business. they will claim that its a home and bill you up to 5.00, even though several shippers ship from the same location and only one truck comes to pick up everyones packages at the same time. everyone in that location will have to pay up to a 17.00 pick up charge, even though you pack correctly.
when your customer discovers the damages, and dont bother to put it back in the original packaging, UPS will deny your claim due to insufficient packaging....if you write to the prisident or the CEO, they dont even bother to read your complaints, they will forward it to some peon who has no authority to correct any problems.......THIS COMPANY IS A RIP OFF...you are better off shipping with DHL or FED EX..their charges are a lot less and you will save tones of money.....
