The company provides the terms and conditions for purchase in a few places prior to completing the purchase. In order to do the purchase you must agree to those terms. If you were unwilling to accept any fee to cancel you should have not agreed to the terms of the purchase.
Unfortunatley many online merchants have strict terms and agreements that you must agree to. Consumers are not reading before completing the purchases.
