The easiest way this can be resolved is to dispute it directly with the credit bureau. You can use their dispute form which should have been included with your credit report, or you can type a letter stating exactly what the problem is, and that you never had an account with that company. When the credit bureau receives this letter, it will contact the company directly and ask for proof of the account. With no proof, the company, by law, has to remove it from your report. Disputes usually take no longer than 30 days. Its a lot less work on your part, and its a guarantee that it will be off of your report. Good Luck!
