We went to Verizon one bill in November 2008. We were quoted a price we were never billed for land, cell, internet and direct tv. We were quoted under $200/mos. for all services. Each month, our bills totalled between $330-410. We called constantly; they changed service, misbilled, and in all was one huge hassle.
We cancelled after five months and went back to our prior service. Since then, they and Direct TV billed us each an additional $500. This is ironic as we have paid them for those five months of service $2,049.60. We should have been billed the maximum, not what was quoted, $1652. which was an overpayment of $397.60. Now they both, Verizon and Direct TV, want more. Direct TV states that they are charging a $300 disconnect feel plus approximately $186 that Verizon did not send them.
At this point, we attempted to negotiate to no avail. We reported them both to the Better Business Bureau and that was not successful as when we asked to talk to a supervisor, they were "unavailable." They have stated, like montras, that they "see no discrepency" in their billing, are curt and rude when they talk to us. We insist on moving higher up and we get the run around. We were told one would call back and never did. Our last contact was 9/26 when we left message for them to call us. No one did and they have since reported us for non-payment.
We are good paying customers, in fact we have already overpaid them. Now they want more and are basically wrecking our credit rather than negotiate an agreement we entered in good faith. We will pay what we owe, and we did, in fact we have already over paid. This is nothing short of extortion.
