Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We bought a JVC digital video recorder on 3/7/02.

After we installed the software into our computer, we connected the video camera to the USB port.

This caused the computer to have a fatal error and to shut down. We made every attempt to make sure it wasn't the computer, worked with the manufacturers and with Microsoft with o success.

We returned the camera on 3/31/2 and were given another JVC, different model(which was a downgrade from our original purchase). The manager told us the software was different and promised that we would not have the same problems.

THE SAME PROBLEM DID OCCUR. We returned this camera on 4/2/2 and decided that we didn't want any digital video cameras that the store offered.

We asked for a refund and were denied. The store policy reads..

"If for any reason you are unhappy with the equipment from VIDEO ONLY, you may return it for FULL REFUND or exchange within 30 days of purchase/delivery. Units must be factory sealed."

Now are we STUPID?? How can you determine whether you're unhappy with your purchase unless you open the box and make an attempt to use the equipment?

This makes absolutely no sense. Both of the cameras were purchased factory sealed. Only people with X-Ray vision or a miracle would have enabled us to see that the cameras would not work with our computer.

This return policy is certainly a rip-off and a scam to keep the consumers money and force them into a purchase that they may never be happy with!

So don't ever purchase anything from VIDEO ONLY unless you're ready to buy something that you'll never be able to use as intended.

i shopped around the big box audio/video stores and found video only to be priced from 10-40% lower then the competitor's sale price. i had an issue with a television that would not fit into my cabinet and the manager responded with their return policy and offered me an additional discount on the one that would fit. not only did i feel i got a great deal on my first purchase but and even better on on the one that fit. it is not my salesperson's fault in this matter. maybe they'll do the same for you? i'd rather get the best deal on the best products than a policy which raises the price across the board. only in america is there a return policy.
