"Our new salesmen (Oscar) went on to explain to us that we were NOT allowed to take the car to our mechanic and there was no need to anyways because it was still under warranty for another 4,000 miles. "
Anytime a car dealer refuses to let you have a vehicle checked out by an independent mechanic, that tells you everything you need to know about the car. "Still under warranty" means nothing if the car was abused or wrecked (which you would find out when you had it checked out). The warranty would not necessarily be valid if the car had not been maintained according to specifications.
Basically, they saved you the money you would have spent on a mechanic to check out this vehicle.

This complaint is valid and I'm certain they treated you like crap. The only problem I have with your report is your mentioning you are in the service. Believe me, that has nothing to do with it. Car dealers in general treat EVERYONE like crap, My Dad, my brother and I were all in the service and they treat us all this way. They are not singling you out.
You did the right thing though, you didn't fall for their stupid game. Good for you.

according to information that's available on the web, it might be a good idea to send a copy of your Ripoff Report to Ben Bernanke so he can alert all of his bosses who ultimately control the Federal Reserve, wouldn't you agree?
Feel free to 'Google' this- WHO OWNS THE FED?, and go to the site with the five charts. General Motors is listed in 'Chart 3', correct?
It's always best to go right to the top and expose what happened, right? Since the Fed is ultimately in control of General Motors, it makes sense that they know how you were treated so they can take the appropriate action against the dealership.
Good luck to you.

They didn't sell the car while it was in your possession. That was a lie to make you think you missed out on a deal. You handled this correctly. The disrespect they showed you implies there is a problem with the car. If there isn't a problem with the car you still did the right thing because they are a-holes that don't deserve your money. Good luck with your car shopping.
