Vom Haus James Janna James Sold a sick dog and won't refund money even after getting her back Simi Valley, California

We bought a female puppy from Janna on a Monday. The puppy got her shots on that Thursday and wasn't acting right. On Saturday I took the pups temp and it was 106 so I rushed her to the emergency pet hospital. She was there until Sunday night and we spent quite a bit of money trying to help her. We had tests run, put her on antibiotics and an IV, and did all we could to get her better. She had an ultrasound and the vet said her kidneys were bad, probably congenital and that the shots may have triggered her fever but that the architecture of the kidneys was not right at all, they were malformed and oversized, and not working. She said the puppy would be highly prone to infection and have a rough life ahead. The shots were NOT the cause of her kidney malformation. She was a dog that would never have a normal life.
Janna said she wanted the dog back and would write us a check for what we paid for her. Janna's son came to pick up the puppy and gave us a check and took the dog. The next day, Janna said she could fix the dog and that she wasn't sick and that vets don't know what they are doing. She never took the dog to her vet, like her son told us they would, and is now re-selling the sick dog to some unknowing buyer! Well, we asked Janna if we could cash the check she had written and she said there wasn't money in the account! We were told there would be money in it "ASAP" and that they were "honest" people, yet excuse after excuse, day after day, we couldn't cash the check because it wouldn't clear. We never asked for the vet expenses, just the money back for the dog, that they got back.
Now its over a month later and we still don't have our money back, she won't even answer my calls and told me to talk to her son, who won't answer us. I have a check from them that isn't worth the paper its written on and they have the nerve to say that they could have canceled the check and ignored us, like a check that can't be cashed is any better.
It is sad that there are breeders that don't stand behind their word, guarantee that a dog is healthy, and when they aren't, they take the dog back and try to sell them again to someone that has no idea that they are buying a sick dog. They are criminals as wee, knowingly writing us a bad check! Janna is a dishonest breeder who has no morals at all or any respect for the dogs she sells. BEWARE and buy from anyone but this crook!

I bought a puppy from Vomhaus James, and this little dog is the best dog I could possibly have! I've never had any problems with his health or temperment. I paid a very reasonable fee and wouldn't change a thing.
I think the Complaint above is over-played, exaggerated, and not completely truthful, but a one-sided opinion of someone who has mental problems of her own, and perhaps should seek care from a mental practitioner. And she should take more respoonsibility for her own stupidity. It's quite obvious that the immunization shot that her dog received affected that dog horribly, and that is something that is unpredictable and not the fault of Janna James of Vom Haus James.
When I called Janna James to inquire about purchasing another dog, she told me about the complaint of this person here, and told me that she paid quite a bit of money for the client's dog's vet bills, when she really didn't have to do that at all. I, myself would never pay for someone else's vet bills!

I have no idea what this is. I do not sell animals and have no idea what this is. My name is not Janna and I have no idea what this is about. I am not and have never been a breeder. I have never sold a dog in my life,
This sounds like retaliation from the turtle website that ripped me off. Don't make me show the transaction records and pictures of the sick turtles you sent me, turtleshack.com

I am so sorry to hear about your troubles with your new puppy. I would like to suggest you try Mittelwest German Shepherds for a puppy. My husband and i own 2 (a male and female) Mittelwest Shepherds and are so pleased with them. They are definately worth every penny. Julie Martinez is very informative and responds to any email questions immediately. Everywhere we take our beautiful dogs, we get comments on how beautiful they are! They have the best temperments too. Both dogs are so loving and great with children, other adults and other dogs too! We feel we have the best of all worlds with these world class Shepherds from Mittelwest. We will continue to purchase Shepherds from Mittelwest. They are world class!!
