My family went to this Vons store on one occasion, we usually go to a different Vons which I've always liked, but we were already running errands right next to this one, so we decided to go there & then go home.

Once inside, We began our shopping, as usual. We began in the produce section, but it seemed like everything wh picked up was rotten!

The tomatoes in the stand were MOLDY!

There was nasty juice pooled up under the pears, also MOLDY.

There was a layer of SCUM covering the bottom of every produce bin we lookid in.

So we moved on. We thought, "Oh, we'll point that out to the manager as we leave. They need some different people running the produce section."

We went next to their fresh bakery counter. There are small bins with freshly baked bagels, & paper bags for you to fill & take home. As I reached for the little plastic napkins they provide for handling the bagels, I notice something move out of the corner of my eye.

Upon closer inspection, I realized that the entire wall of bins, filled with bagels, rolls, & loaves of bread, seemed to be moving. They were covered with FLIES! I mean, thousands & thousands of FLIES! Crawling all over the place! Little tiny ones, they looked like fruit flies to me. I'm not sure, they were eating bread, but that's still very unsanitary. We were disgusted.

We really needed to get some food, so we thought even though their food that was out was disgusting, it would probably be okay if we bought some pre-packaged stuff. We bought about 1/2 cart full of stuff, paid, & were on our way out. We stopped by the manager's office, who was out, then we got a phone number from another employee that we could reach the manager at during their regular hours.

We arrived home, put all our food away & decided to call the next morning.

The next morning, however, we made another discovery. I grabbed a cup of yogurt from the fridge & realized that it had EXPIRED more than a week before! I started checking the expiration dates on all the food, & as it turned out we had 7 other cups of expired yogurt, 2 one pound packages of expired lunchmeat, & a bag of expired chips. Also, a bag of frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts that was completely freezerburned, & I mean completely!

We have tried to call on many occasions, but the manager is always "out," or when we get transferred, nobody picks up.

I have since told a few people about this, & they have related similar stories to me of their own bad experience with that particular store, all of whom can never get in touch with the manager.
