WDP Refrigeration - Akvatek Industries Fraudulant billing shipping practices & poor packing and shipping Miami Florida
The configuration of the unit I received was unsatisfactory and incomplete. Missing the refrigeration unit for the cooler side of the unit. Units were also received damaged. Attempted to cooperate with manufacturer and compromise on configuration if new door was shipped. Also require pricing on damaged panels for freight damage claim.
To date I have not received the missing refrigeration unit, replacement door or quote on damaged panels. I have been told repeatedly that the parts and quote will be sent out. I call Alex at least once a day to remind him of what they owe me and the predicament that I am in. I am unable to get in touch with the owner of the company. To date I have not seen anything.
Since receiving the unit I have opened my Ice Cream shop and have had to store my ice cream in other units and off site because I don't have a working walk-in unit. Their advertising says that they can provide a unit in less than two weeks. I have been waiting 3 months! Prior too this I waited patiently for two months just to receive what I have so far. Then to top that off they had the wrong address on the shipping documents and I had to pay additional shipping fees because the freight company couldn't find or contact me!
Received a call from the Miami Dade police department stating that they had contacted Mr. Alex Victoro about my problem. He told the officer that the I would have the unit by the following Tuesday. As of 11/3/03 I still have not received the refrigeration unit.
Received the letter from the Miami-Dade County, Florida Consumer Protection Division regarding my complaint # 625161-Akvatek Industries. It contained a letter from the department stating that they had received a written response from the company and that this would allow them to close out this complaint. The letter from the company states that everything was shipped and that it was my responsibility to find out from the freight company where my units are. The only problem is that I have never been given that information to follow up. This is what I have been asking for since the beginning of all this.
It is now 6 months since I ordered my walkin refrigerator/freezer and I still do not have a working unit. I paid $7,400 for this unit and all I have is a pile of junk at this time.

February 1st, 2005 Akvaktek has responded with a rebuttal saying that they never did business with me as Akvatek. I have several copies of shipping invoices and regular invoices that have their logo's. Boldly printed on the cover sheets. It's funny that no matter who contacts this individual he doesn't give the same response. I have yet to receive the shipping information that was requested of me and the BBB of Florida. All I have asked for is the tracking information since they say they have shipped it. Yet for some unknown reason they can't seem to provide me with that one simple piece of information. So I am to assume that it was never shipped. I have noticed that this company tends to change it's name quite frequently. Is it to avoid all the bad press from illegitimate business practices. Hmmm! I have a folder about an 1" thick on all my correspondences with several different agencies and the responses back by them and the folks at Akvatek Industries, aka WDP Refrigeration etc. if anyone is interested in reading up on the company. Akvatek industries never had a customer with this name. Akvatek Industries sells only to goverment, military, OEM approved certified refrigeration contractors and not to individuals.
