Western International University ripoff dishonest and a collection agency called Valentine & Kebartas, Inc. Phoenix Arizona
I enrolled with WIU to further my education. When I talked to the counselor I told him that I was a single mom working a full time job.
My main concern was if I would have the time to do the classes. He assured me that all I would have to do is post or go to the online classes 3 times a week. Of course I thought that was doable. He got me set up to start on Oct. 31 2005. He assured me that I would qualify for a student loan, and that I could start the classes before I had an approval.
Also, after I had started the class I was informed that if I did not pass the classes, I would be kicked out of the college.
The 3 times a week was a lie! For 4 months, I spent every minute I was home online doing school work, I was never in bed before midnight. I didn't want to fail. It is impossible for someone with my kind of schedule to spend every minute I have on the computer.
In those 4 months I was trying to get that student loan. The financial advisor would call me constantly wanting more paperwork, right down to my divorce papers! Why on earth do they need that for a student loan? I would send it to them, and it wouldn't be enough, she would need something else.
So when I called and told her I was dropping out, she informed me that if I did I would owe them $2513.64. I about fainted. I had only finished 2 classes! She then informed me that if I dropped out, I would owe full tuition. That was the first time anyone told me about that.
These people will lie to get you into their collage, and then try to charge you an outrageous amount of money if you drop out. Then they send me to a collection agency called Valentine & Kebartas, Inc. Theses people are just as insane.
I feel that I don't owe them anything, I did not get a student loan, and I didn't agree to paying them anything.
