Whatever Works Subsidiary Of Potpourri Group Unauthorized Credit Card Data Transmittal Chelmsford Massachusetts
On December 7, 2007 I ordered a Mitten Tree from Whatver Works, a subsidiary of The Potpourri Group of Chelmsford, MA. My item shipped on December 10, 2007. Beginnig on January 10, 2008 charges were placed on my checking account/debit card statement for $9.95 charged to Shopping Essentials, a subsidiary of Adaptive Marketing of Omaha, NE.
On September 15, 2008 my wife brought this charge to my attention and I began my investigation. I contacted Shopping Essentials Customer Service(Hilton, employee #226870) and they immediately offered to close my account and credit me back one month of charges. Not rising to ther bait I asked for a supervisor(Charles, employee #14934) who had authority to credit back all the charges. Supervisor indicated he would close the account and my bank would receive the credit within two business days.
I then proceed to call Potpourri Group and asked for their legal department. They don';t have one so I asked for Jack Rosenthal, President. His secretary, Kim, took my name and telehpone numbver and I am still waiting for his telephone call.
In the interim, I did receive a telephone call from Robert A. Horowitz, Esq. an attorney with Greenberg Traurig Hoffman,(212-801-9200)in New York, NY who was representing Adaptive Narketing telling me that everything they had done was legal. If you would like to talk with Mr. Hoffman about Adaptive Marketing I would recommend that you call him at his office 212-801-2194.
