I bought a wheel and tire package from wheeldiscount.com about a month ago. When I called to order the package, I happened to get the owner, and he was a great guy to talk to, and said there are alot of bad guys out there, and that he stands by his products. That's great!.

So, the other night, I decide to go for a cruise in my car, and when I get into the garage, I realized my back driver side tire was flat. So, I jacked up the car, took the wheel off, and was looking for a nail or screw.. didn't see nothing. I filled up the tire to 32 pounds, and I heard air escaping somewhere. I get a cup of water, pour it on the tire.. and the air was escaping where the tire meets the rim. I never had a bead issue before.

So, I go to my local tire shop, which happens to be a very big chain up where I live, and I know the manager of the particular shop that I go to. I tell him what happened, and when he takes the tire off the wheel, he said the bead was literally screwed up, because whoever mounted the tire to the rim did a reckless job, and the bead was chewed up, and was crinkled, so when there is any force on the tire, the air escapes. He told me that it's not a wheel or tire defect, but a human error.

So, I get home, call up wheeldiscount.com, and tell the girl my dilema. She tells me she will talk to her manager (the owner of wheeldiscount.com), and she will call me back Tuesday. Tuesday comes and goes, and no call. So, I call first thing Wednesday, and she says she talked to her manager, and he wants a picture of the tire. So, I said why should I go out of my way to pay to take the tire off the rim, and take a picture of the tire!!??, that will serve no purpose whatsoever at all!. I told her over and over that it was their fault, and that it should be no question that they made a mistake, and to send me a new tire, and I will send back the old one. She says she can't do that.

So, I told her that a few years ago, I bought a tire/wheel package from tirerack, and immediately, I noticed there was a chunk out of the tire, I called tirerack, and they overnighted me a new wheel and tire..and that was with a tire defect. And your trying to tell me that your giving me a hassle with a mistake on your part!?. I gave her the name and number of the manager who took my tire off, and told her to have her manager call him, so he can hear it from a professional. She says she will call me tomorrow.

So, tomorrow comes and I heard nothing. I figured i'd give her the benefit of the doubt and wait until 4pm. 4pm comes, and nothing. I call up my manager friend to first find out if anyone called him from wheeldiscount.com to discuss my issue, and he said he heard from no one. So, I call wheeldiscount.com, and she tells me that she asked her manager again, and he said he will do nothing for me until he sees a picture of the tire.

Once again, I tell her that a picture won't show anything at all!. A picture won't show a leak out of the bead. I was getting annoyed, and wanted to speak to her manager. I was put on hold for 10 mins, she comes back and said he was with a customer. She said he would definately call me, or my manager friend, before 5pm. She reassured me over and over again that me or my friend would hear from her manager. 6pm came, I heard nothing. I called my friend, he didn't hear anything either. A week later, I have left a total of 15 messages with a human for the manager to call me back.. and nothing!!.

So with all that said, I have a defective tire that my friend temporarily fixed so I can drive, but he said he wouldn't go over 65 mph with his fix, and that I really need a new tire.

Wheeldiscount.com has a good selection of rims, but if anything goes wrong with a tire or rim, good luck getting help!. They are careless people, and don't want to take responsibility of their actions. Stay away from this company!!!.

They still have my tire, and won't return it

Well since my last update on 6/1/05, Wheeldiscount.com are basically theives. After sending my tire to them in MAY, and after me leaving countless messages to them, they refuse to answer me back, and they STILL have my tire, and 2 months later, haven't responded to any of my calls. Since then, I reported them to the BBB, the attorney generals office, and I had a story done by 4 network affiliates here in my area about my ordeal. There have been 6 MAJOR tuner car shows here, and I even went to the extent of handing out flyers to people to warn them about this company. Good thing I did too, because out of roughly 25,000 people that myself, and my 7 friends have handed these flyers out to, 75% of the people were actually going to buy wheels/tires from this company, and thanked me - and told me they will buy elsewhere now, and they intend to warn people about this company on forums that they moderate as well. I intend to even take this further. At least I know that up until now, I have taken away literally THOUSANDS of dollars of sales to wheeldiscount.com, all because they basically "stole" my $100 tire - and wouldn't back up their product. Good business decision Richie lol. Losing thousands of dollars -over standing behind your product, and replacing a tire, that your installers messed up. Real smart business decision. I will update when I DO get a new tire from wheeldiscount.com. If I still have hassles, I will personally fly down to Fl, and demand to talk to Richie face to face if they continue to ignore me, and the tire I sent them at their request.

Update... Is a $100 tire worth losing thousands over

Update: So, I am told to send my defective tire to the company, which I did. I call up Richie, the owner, to ask if he received my tire. Right away he ignores my request and confronts me about the report I filed on this website and said he isn't happy. He said nothing will be done until this report is removed, and told me to call him in 30 mins, and practically hung up on me. The NERVE!. With everything i've went through so far with this company, and he has the audacity to confront me about this report?. I feel this report is justified. Nonetheless, I call him back in 30 minutes to tell him that this report will not be taken off until I get a new tire back!. Well, he wasn't there, so I left a message with someone else there. Big shocker, he hasn't called back. As a matter of fact, throughout this whole ordeal, not ONCE has anyone ever called me back. It's always me calling. Great customer service. Anyways, he hasn't called back!, and it's a week since I talked to him. This all happened last week, and I haven't received my old tire back, or a new one. Now further action will take place, and is in the works. When you go to www.wheeldiscount.com, it says.. "you are dealing with a company thats number one goal is the customers needs. You are in good hands with Wheel Discount".. WHAT A JOKE!. I am a member of many online communities on the internet, and I will warn everyone not to buy from this company. How stupid of a company to go through all this hassle with a customer over a $100 tire!!!. I also plan on going on various news stations here in my area and warning people about this company. My area is a huge tuner car area, and I know of many people that were planning on buying from this company. But, that will change. Is a $100 tire worth losing thousands over Richie?. I'll update when new news comes my way.
