Whitten Brothers Automotive Service Caused major engine damage during tune-up Richmond Virginia
1/6/2009 Delivered Jeep to Whitten Bros Service dept for 60,000 mile service. They advised me it was done. Picked up vehicle after work same day. Noticed a high pitched noise driving back home. Noticed they charged me twice for a transmission flush (which is part of the 60,000 mile tune up according to the Jeep Service Manual and Whitten Service advertising.)
1/7/2009 Reported the new noise, they advised I bring it back in. First available appointment was on Friday 1/9/2009 at 2pm.
1/9/2009 I brought the Jeep back to them for that appointment. They looked at the vehicle and advised me that now I needed a new water pump because the bearings are shot.
I asked why this all of a sudden happened after their mechanics serviced my Jeep. They responded that they did not know.
I asked why this problem wasn't detected during a major tuneup that cost nearly 900 dollars. They responded that they did not know.
At this point I asked to have my car returned to me and I took it to another mechanic shop.
I have followed the Jeep maintenance logbook to the letter. Only after Whitten technicians worked on my car did this problem start.
