My family (husband, self and child) answered an ad on craigslist for a rental on a house in fountaingrove (santa rosa). William vance eric anderson responded quickly. We arranged for a showing of the house. He was pretty polite and chatty. Small things about the house were mentioned but agin a lot of talk about things not having to do about the house. That we (husband and i) did not engage in or even start. Things went well but we felt odd. Things weren't handled in a usual manner. We offered a check($12,800 equaling first+ last month's rent and $6,400 deposit) to secure the place and oddly signed a contract WITHOUT our last names on it. He took pictures of us with our i.d's next to our faces and cash as well and sent them via text messages from his phone, as "receipts". The house was clean and hardly anything was in the house as they said they were moving. Not odd right? But still the way he talked so much about random things and never even asked us any personal questions that are usually asked when renting out a house. When we got home we felt more uneasy and unsure about this too good to be true scenario. We were so distracted by him talking we never got his last name. I looked at the copy of the "contract" that we signed. He had us print our names under our signatures but yet he didn't. I was able to find his wife's name and put 2 and 2 together and googled william anderson and his wife's name and found him on this site! I then went back to craigslist to start looking for other houses to continue our search for a new home. There i found that someone had posted a screen shot of THAT POSTED BY WILLIAM! Stating FOUNTAINGROVE SCAM! I had sent william the link to here asking him if he could explain it. He called me and started his rambling on about names and courts and "data" and such and i told him that he needed to talk to my husband anout it because i couldn't wrap my head around it My husband and him briefly talked and set up to meet back at 3715 paxton place at 4pm that day. With everything that was just not sitting well with us. We showed his previous report on here from someone else to our bank and they immediately stopped payment on the check and changed his accounts. He is now stating that he is going to submit a letter to you guys about us being scammers on here! He's trying to turn it around on us AND MY HUSBAND'S BUSINESS! BEWARE OF THIS GUY.

This guy screwed me hard. Me and my son rented from him and I paid my rent on time but because I left for a few weeks he decided to go into my home and change the locks and move out all my furniture and belongings to the front yard to be stolen and rained on.
My rent was paid in full. he filed 3 day notices that were not even valid because my rent was not due yet. I signed a year lease and was only in the property for 5 weeks never got my deposit back for 980 dollars. This was in Williams CA in Feb and March of this year 2019.

I am writing this because like you Anderson also scammed me. He is out to destroy anyone he can. He takes your money and then scares you to death and claims he didn't do anything. The truth is he has found a way to hid all of his criminal activities and blame the individual that he out to scam. He is getting sloppy these days because he is now preying on Individuals who are educated. I have now gone into hiding because of his threats on my life. As of yesterday it was comfirmed by the VA where I am at that he is not a Vetervan and he has never been in the National Guard. I showed my pictures at the VA Hospital and they investigated What we do know is that his victim needs to go directly to the nearest District Attorney's office and report him give them all document regarding the incident and go to the Crime Victims unit for assistance
