Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I started with Windstream Kentucky East, LLC back in April 2010, I signed on for a Bundle Package of $59.99 for Life and Dish Network for $32.99...Since signing on I was not made aware that they had serviceability issues here in the Meads area of Ashland, KY where I live.  I did not find this out until I experienced daily dropped calls in the middle of speaking with family and friends and taking care of personal business on the telephone and also experienced numerous outages of the internet and searching for server, etc...I have had technicians to my home in excess of about 30 times and they still have not fixed the problem to date.  They lowered my internet speed to half or nearly nothing to get it to work and to stop disconnecting and it still does the searching server and having to wait long periods of time to connect to the internet which should not be happening with High Speed as they call it Service.  I am still having problems with the phone and my friends and family not being able to hear me because Windstream lives up to it's name the telephone service has a very windy mussel noise while you are trying to talk to people.  I get told that I can not be heard from family and friends.  I have had to hang up and use my cell phone to complete calls and use my cell phone minutes because of the crappy service.  I have to repeat things said to people and this is all because of the noise coming through the telephone lines on my side.  I have spoken with Matt Mitchel who is suppose to be Gen. Manager at 606-473-4007 and John McDowell Supervisor of Technicians at 606-629-6238, Andy Desk Supervisor at 606-329-2469 and the newest person is Mike McCathern 606-329-2469 at Windstream.  I was told by Matt Mitchel that they needed to install new lines that they were having problems due to repeated flooding in the area of the hub box they thought the lines were damaged.  This work was promised to have been done by July or August and here it is now almost December and I am still having the same problems.  I have got tired of them coming to my home, telling me they were going to send someone out and I don't know if they came or not and still yet nothing is fixed, or they would come to the home and tell me they found nothing and then no soon as they leave and I try to use the service it is right back with the windy russell noise on the phone.  Windstream decided to offer me a $59.99 credit on my bill and I was to pay the Dish Network charges, which I did.  Little did I know from the beginning of time that they were not also removing the taxes and fees on that $59.99 that they were removing.  This increased the bill.  I kept getting told we are trying to get the problem fixed Ms. McCauley bare with us, how long does one have to bare having piss poor service at best with a company.  Also they make threats on the bills of you using the what is suppose to be free unlimited long distance service, suggesting that they are going to charge you .10 cents a minute if you continue to use excessive long distance service.  Wait a minute I have no family here in Kentucky, all my calls are primarily long distance and that is why I signed on to the service for the Unlimited Long Distance.  FCC needs to be made aware that they are making these threats to people and not owning up to and providing the service being paid for by the Windstream Customers.  The credit that they were giving me and still have not fixed the problems, is getting turned on death ears because they still are trying to charge me the $37 in additional fees added to the Bundle Pack of $59.99.

Oh, here's the best part...the money I was sending them was suppose to be being credited/paid towards my Dish Network Services and guess what, my television got turned off last week and I still have this lousy Windstream Communications Telephone and Internet Service.  This all happened because Windstream did not follow through with the promises that they made.  #1 to install and fix the lines and correct the problems coming into or going out of my house.  #2 Other people by their own omissions are being affected just like I have been here due to the faulty and old lines and they did not fix them before.  #3 Them not crediting and applying the payments I have made to the right party which would have been Dish Network.  #4 How can they justify additional fees when they are writing off the total bundle amount of $59.99 until the problem was supposed to be fixed and problems with Telephone nor the Internet are fixed for the Customers in the Meads area of Kentucky, which is serviced out of the Windstream local office located at 619 15th Street Ashland, KY 41101....Heather Freeman was my associate that I signed on with and her number is 606-329-6386 (Office) 606-305-0286 (Fax), she may still be on leave.  I called last week and she was on leave per another associate.   If they write off the Bundled Package they should also have to write off the fees of the additional $37 in fees.  Without the Bundled amount those fees would not apply, right or wrong?  I keep asking for a Corporate Office and they can not give me to anyone.  I don't know what kind of operation this is, but do they have a CEO someplace here in Kentucky or at an Corporate Windstream Communications Office?  The very people who work for Windstream does not know how to get a hold of who signs their paychecks....this is ridiculous.

I don't think anyone realizes the cost and the work it takesto replace lines, I do know they received money for that, which was just approved in September, so that may be an answer. The credit they gave you is before taxes, you still have to pay those, and so does everyone else. Your television probably got turned off because you didn't pay the bill, windstream prepays the service and then in turn bills you, so if you go past 30 days with no payment then it does get disconnected. The CEO isn't in Kentucky and there is a line to where you can file your complaint, you will have to call customer service to get that number or speak with a supervisor. Sorry that you are having issues but I'm sure there is more to the story.
