Worldwide Preferred Publishers Service Fradulent advertising, incorrect products, ignoring customer requests, putting blame on magazine companies they represent, Redondo Beach California
I am an unfortunate consumer, along with many others, who fell for the confusing sales pitch from Worldwide Preferred Publishers Service. I understood the agreement was for one year's subscription for five magazines at $39.90 per month. My first statement was put aside while I tried to correct the kind of magazines I wanted. I was told it would take a few weeks to make the corrections and the lady assured me the magazines they were sending would stop and the correct ones would come in. I waited and I never received anything I requested. I paid a 3 to 5 month debt and requested again for the magazines I wanted. They changed to different magazines of which none I had requested. I did not request Men's Journal and sports magazines. I did not request People and OK magazines. But I still receive them. I'm starting to wonder what the people of my local postal service think of me.
I believe I sent in more money, but they're still sending the incorrect magazines now along with others I did not request. No matter how many times I tried to correct the problem I was ignored. I was told I could not cancel the contract and I asked why. The only answer I received per telephone conversation was that I could simply not cancel.
The previous company was different and now I'm receiving statements from Worldwide Preferred Pulblishers Service. But now the monthly charge is not $39.90 but $49.90. I am being informed now that they will take
these payment from my orginial credit card information when they first called me over a year ago, if I did not send a payment by November 22, 2007.
I am reporting this to another agency which is a government group and I hope to help put this to a stop.
