I purchased a new Chopard Mens Watch Medium Size with 319 Diamonds over the phone after discovering the web site www.atlantictime.com and, speaking with the owner Darrul Randal and assistant Amy Hankla.
I was told to furnish these people with my American Express card which I did for them to place a deposit on it in the amount of $20,800.
I was also told to wire them $35,200 the next day which I did. The Company sent me a written confirmation describing the watch by model number, Manufacturer and the fact that it was a MENS MEDIUM SIZE WATCH.
Atlantic time sent the watch the next day via UPS and when I opened the box it was the wrong watch! They sent me a ladies watch in SMALL SIZE despite the fact that their written confirmation clearly stated MEDIUM SIZE!!!
I immediately called Atlantictime and asked for Mr. Randal and owner and I was told that he was unavailable. I then called several more times and could not get to speak to him.
I finally spoke to Amy Hankla and she said that they had made a mistake and that I should send the watch back to them for them to replace it with the correct watch.
Amy Hankla even said that she would send me an overnight UPS airbill with insurance to cover the return to them. The next day on 12-19-03 the package arrived UPS to their office and was signed for and accepted by Amy Hankla on behalf of AtlanticTime.
I called and spoke with her and she indicated that she was sending me the correct MENS MEDIUM SIZE WATCH for the next day delivery on 12-19-03.
On l2-19-03 no repalcement watch came. I proceeded to call and Darryl Randal was again unavailable, on the ohter line, etc, etc, etc. After about 10 attempts, I demanded his cell phone number from his assitant Amy.
She gave me Darryl Randals cell phone and I proceeded to call him. He obviously saw my number on his caller ID because he answered the phone screaming at the top of his lungs, 'F*** YOU a*****e, YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO SEE YOUR MONEY AGAIN, WE ARE AN OFFSHORE TURKS AND CAICOS COMPANY " and then hung up the phone.
I then called Chopard Watch Company in NYC and discovered that the watch I ordered in a MENS MEDIUM SIZE does not even come in a mens medium size!
I then called atlantictime and spoke with Amy again and she placed me on the speakerphone. I said to her that I am a hard working person, saved up for years to buy this $56,000.00 watch and your Company took my money and never delivered the merchandise.
She replied on the speaker phone, "Ohhh, isn't that too bad, the old man lost his money" and she and several others in the background were all laughing...
Since then, I have spoke with the BBB in his area at 714-985-8922 and spoke with Lorraine and discovered that Atlantic time and their various dba's have over 23 similiar complaints ripping off people in the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars in which they never delivered the merchandise or delivered counterfeit merchandise!
If you have done business with this Company, immediately contact the toll free number on the back of your credit card and dispute the transaction. I would also suggest calling the FTC at 1888-382-1222 or make a complaint on their internet site.
I would also sugest making a complaint with the Postal Inspector in your area as well as District Attorney Michelle Cippoletti in Orange County, California.

The original report is outdated. Atlantic Pacific Time was a California based company which was sold to a New York based ownership over two years ago. It specializes in discounting luxury watches on the internet and is named ATLANTIC TIME. If you click on the LA Better Business Report you will no longer see any reference to the former company as the BBB has recently updated their records. ATLANTIC TIME is a reputable member of the NY Metro BBB. It owns atlantictime.com and pacifictime.com (which when accessed is directed to atlantictime.com).

In response to Armand DeAngelis in Miami's complaint about the CHOPARD watch we shipped him it is important to consider the following facts: 1. We had Armand DeAngelis sign a contract stating the exact model he had selected. In this contract he selected model 10_5728. We shipped him a perfect 100% authentic CHOPARD 10_5728 wristwatch from an authorized CHOPARD dealer with box & dealer stamped certification papers. 2. The 10_5728 indicates one specific size & it is reasonable to think that one would be familiar with a product that a person is ordering for this dollar amount. 3. In the contract Armand DeAngelis signed, it stated that he understood that because of the dollar amount of this purchase that it would not be eligible for return or exchange. 4. We offered to try & exchange the watch through our CHOPARD dealer until he became abusive & threatened a lawsuit. 5. We have offered & still offer to ship this $97,000.00 retail wristwatch back to Armand to an address of his choosing, or refund him over time (Our cash flow would be adversely affected by an instant $56,000 return). So far he has declined either of these offers. 6.
