nafdacnigeria.org Case of Fraud, Copyrights Infringement, Website Abuse and Plagiarism, Internet
This is to report a case of website abuse, fraud and total disregard for constituted authority against the person behind www.nafdacnigeria.org.
The website under the domain www.nafdacnigeria.org hosted by www.hivelocity.net used to be the site of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). Nigeria's equivalent of the United States FDA (Food and Drug Administration). The domain name was first registered in July 2002 and the site was built. It initially looked like this in 2003: http://web.archive.org/web/20030522200333/http://www.nafdacnigeria.org/
Years after, the leadership (Director General) of this agency that awarded the website job to the old webmaster changed. Came in new leadership and also a new government policy that every government website in Nigeria must be registered on the .gov.ng domain.
Now the agency website is at www.nafdac.gov.ng. you can check it out. And see the similarities, you will also observed that www.nafdacnigeria.org is old and hasnt being updated thereby unsuspecting traffic that goes there is oblivious of the agency's latest effort in combating the menace of fake food and drugs in nigeria . This is causing Nafdac untold embarrassment and lost of valuable traffic.
The webmaster for this old site apparently refused to take it down even after giving directive to that effect because of the site traffic. he instead decided to monetizied the site with adverts from google and only recently decided to name the website header as the Unofficial Fan Site of Nafdac Nigeria (there is no such thing as unofficial fan site). He has continued for a long time to steal valuable and quality traffic that should be going to the present agency website. Organic and natural search traffic from the search engines go there because the old domain has higher ranking in the search engine. We also observed that they are adverts placed on the website and the old webmaster is using this to earn money for himself from unsuspecting traffic that should be coming to the agency present website (the agency website does not sell advert space, we are a regulatory body and our statutory responsibility is to sensitize and enlighten).
If you check the whois data for the present site, you will see it but the old webmaster has decided to hide his details by engaging the Privacy Protect Service to hide himself so as to continue this illegality.
We are asking and soliciting your help to stop this GROSS WEBSITE ABUSE AND PLAGIARISM.
www.nafdacnigeria.org is illegal and the website must be shut down. all efforts to reach this fellow has proved abortive as he is no longer at his last known physical address.
Please we patiently await your reply on the next steps to take as this illegal website is affecting NAFDAC image in a very negative way but locally and internationally. NAFDAC has moved on but this website is still in the past, this fellow sure knows what he is doing and thinks he is invincible. We want the website shut.
we are willing to partner with you on possible steps to take to shutdown this illegal website once and for all.
