I was very sorry to hear of your bad experience with Zip. I just wanted to point out some things. First off it is stated clearly on the Zip website if the purchase is under 100,00 you will not get the rebate. It is sad that your agent did not point this out. As the consumer you have to "read the fine print always". Secondly to say that Zip agents are all crooks etc. is also unfortunate and untrue. I am not a Zip agent, I work for another Realty company, but have done business with many Zip agents and have found them to be honest and knowledgeable. I regret that you found one that was not up on customer service, but generalizing all Zip agents as dishonest lacks insight. All Real Estate firms have the good and the bad, and you as the consumer need to approach the process being more informed and empowered. Next time focus on the individual and not the whole entity, in Real Estate that is what matters.

First off, I worked with three different agents with Zip and one manager~ I have a full knowledge of the type of person and character that Zip Realty employs and it is BAD!!! Your lies and trickery number one are an example of the Zip Nature!
I recieved a $250.00 REBATE and a $250.00 dissatisfied customer check equaling $500.00 which is still not close to the $700.00 the original agent promised me...
You people are not worth too much of my time so my WARNING TO OTHERS IS THE SAME!
I no longer see or hear of Zip Realty in Colorado so the word is OUT and the agents that I spoke of can't even get referrals in this town because others I have met in this town have the same experience...
And by the way, I talked to everyone at Zip and it's headquarters which moves around and they are all the same ~ snake oil salesman takeing advantage of first time buyers like myself!

Hi there; I would like to post a rebuttal to this comment about Zip Realty.....I am a very happy customer of Zip Realty....I started out on my journey of home ownership; with doubts and I signed on with Zip....My agent; who by the say, has just been wonderful....In the business of real estate; I have found: just like any other business does have crooks and snooks....but through it all; if you had doubts: why did you not stop working with the agent and request a different agent???? As you know; in any service if you are dissatisfied....there are solutions: instead of bashing the entire company: why did you not call the customer service number and request to have a different agent...You seem to be an intelligent individual???? Secondly; the paperwork if you had taken: your time to truly read the information: it clearly states and I quote, " the rebate is only for properties in the amount of $100,000.00 or more: with a cut off amount: and valid in the states; which allows it...
I have just closed on a property and my agent, loan officer and the Zip Realty group have all been wonderful, honest and completely informative every step of the way....I sounds to me you had a bad agent: as there are in this world and they just happen to word for Zip Realty but all agents are not just sales driven: some truly are into their clients; wanting to help meet their needs for home ownership; not just a paycheck....I was truly blessed to have come in contact with my agent and would recommend her to anyone: because of her honesty, her compassion, her protectiveness towards me and knowing the business and knowing that there a dishonest agents out there.....and just doing the right thing.....Have a wonderful and blessed holiday season and I pray everything works out for you and your family...

I am an agent with Zip in another state. I can't comment on the agent's
lack of contact as I obviously have no personal knowledge of the
transaction. I do know however that the rebate, 20% of our commission
on buyers side transactions, only applies to properties with a purchase
price of $100,000 or higher. That is clearly stated on our website and
on the form you signed. We are still required by the company to get the
form signed as a disclosure that a buyer isn't eligible for a rebate on
a lower priced property.
The check you got was most likely the
$250 service guarantee check that ZipRealty offers and had nothing to
do with the rebate as the home you purchased didn't qualify. Below is a
quote from our website:
"As your real estate home buying or selling agent, we guarantee
that we will meet your service expectations. If, upon closing with us,
you do not feel that we have met your service expectations, tell us
about it in writing and we will give you $250."
If
you mentioned on the feedback request form that was emailed to you that
you were not happy, you should have been asked to fill out the
Satisfaction Guarantee Claim Form which is also available on line. If
you didn't fill one out, they may have done it for you as it does sound
as if you got the $250.
I do have a problem with your comment
that "The company is filled with nothing but crooks and people with no
morals or ethics and NO SEMBLANCE OF HONOR!" Since you seem to have
worked with (or didn't work with as the case may be) only 1 agent, I'm
not sure how you can make such a sweeping statement about a company
that is publicly traded on NASDAQ and has offices in 21 states plus the
District of Columbia 61 offices total). We have a customer satisfaction
rating of 96% which far exceeds the national average of about 84% for
all real estate firms as found by a survey by the National Association
of Realtors. We were the 9th largest company in the US in 2008 based on
transaction sides and 11th in sales volume.
As all this was
going on, you should have complained to the Broker in Charge or
District Director. They would have replaced the agent with some one
that would have provided the proper service. I have seen our BIC and DD
let several agents go in the last few months. They simply will not
tolerate agents that don't make the contacts and follow through with
clients as we are required to do. We are full commission EMPLOYEES and
not contractors. We are held to a service standard and if we aren't
meeting it, we are terminated just like other businesses. That is
definitely the exception in the real estate business.
As a ZipRealty agent, I apologize for the poor service you received.
Unfortunately, there are agents with all companies, not just Zip, that aren't very
good at what they do and don't provide the service that they should. I
sometimes wonder how they stay in business as service is really all we
as agents/brokers have to offer. At ZipRealty, we pride ourselves on
our customer service but like any other business, sometimes you get
poor employees.
