Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently had a very poor experience with this company. I called and asked them for what my mother asked to be repaired to be done. She called me and told me that she was confused about the service needed. The company was unprofessional, rude, and disorganized.

Getting upset at a customer is never professional. The tone of voice by the person who answered the phone was clearly angry and hostel. I can understand that a person may become frustrated about someone calling often about the car. Which my mother did yesterday. I don't know the amount but the person on the phone said that he spoke with her. I keep saying person on the phone because he never identified himself.

Besides unprofessional, He was rude. When I called, I said that I was calling about my mothers car and he hung up on me. At first I thought it was because I was on a cell phone. However, when I called back. He pretended not to hear me. Then, I went inside to ensure the best sound quality and he did not pick up the phone until after 10 ++ rings. I had full bars on my cell phone at the location were I called from the first time. There was no reason for poor reception. During our call, He said, "I bet this is your mother on the other line. If it is her car is not going to be done for a week."

Lastly, the company was disorganized. They honestly had no clue what was needed to be done until I prompted them with, "She said a timing belt." Then he said, "yeah, a timing belt. Yeah, a timing chain."

first off--you did not state as to why your car is there which would give us all a better insight as to what is going on--your only compalint as you stated in your update was to complain about customer service---so basically--you expect to annoy the s h i t out of people and have them kiss your a*s--you are an example of stress at the workplace-no wonder many people are not happy with there jobs-customers like you---but your the customer spending money-therefore-you deserve all respect no matter what??--umm NO---you also said you were in repair and you understand what it is like--if you did--you wouldn't be annoying and you would be understanding--basically you are just impatient and you are the only one in the world

I have worked in repair before. Not auto repair, but computer repair. I understand that many times it is very hard to judge and give good estimates on repairs. I nor did my mother intend to bother them. The issue is the simple lack of customer service I experienced. That is what my complaint is about.

Did you get your timingbelt/chain fixed yet, were there any other damages?

Y'all have a miscommunication here, the Timing Belt, and the Timing Chain are the same thing, do the same job and are about equally hard to change.

The problem is that if a (Belt/Chain) goes bad very often it damages the other engine internal parts.

This CANNOT be known until the engine is partly dis-assembled

So essentialy the job is realy three jobs and depends on what's found on dis-asembly.

Job one, get the car in and Dig into the engine (Dis-assembly)

Job two, find whatever's damaged, price it and inform the owner. (You never know if the damage is none,  or if the engine's ruined until you look inside)

Job three,  fix or replace what's needed/broken/destroyed or simply worn out, clean the car where you got dirty fingerprints on or in it, all spilled oil/antifreeze/power steering fluid Etc

(Test drive sometimes, depends on what's done, not needed for a timing belt/chain)

Test and notify customer it's ready to pickup and pay.

So Don't harrass the mechanic, until the engine's (Front end) is Dis-assembled  there's absolutely NO idea how long it'll take or cost, he simply does not KNOW yet.

If this is a routine belt change it's much easier/cheaper, no broken parts and only a few parts to replace with no other damage, if it died on you, there's no telling without dis-assembly.

If you have a belt odds ae good the "Idler/Tensioner" will need replacing as well as the belt,

(It's a huge ball bearing that rides on the belt to keep it tight, and spins at an ungodly RPM. if there's ANY noise, replace it)

By the way, it's spelled "Hostile", a "Hostel" is like a boardinghouse, if you bug him he will indeed be "Hostile", he can't tell you yet, and it's NOT incompetence, he doesn't know yet.

You also don't know if there's some other "Urgent"job ahead of yours, actual working time (Depending on damage found) is about 4 to 6 hours MINIMUM, from the second he turns a wrench to the time he's cleaned up the mess.

If you own a "Sidewinder" (Front wheel drive) It's harder (Read, longer)

Hope this can aid in understanding why a fixed time CANNOT be given.

At this point it's simply unknown.
