These guys will say absolutely anything to make a sale! Chris Farnham was the salesman who told me that we could use our own POS and credit card reader if we switched to Alpine Payment Systems---we can't! Alpine was going to save us so much money over the rates we were paying before---we don't! In fact we're paying much more than before! He wanted me to sign a lease with Northern Leasing for a credit card terminal for $138 a month (which turned into $154 along the way!) and I argued that I own my own reader, I wasn't prepared to lease something that duplicates what I already own. But he convinced me that it was only until tech support figuered out how to make our two systems compatible, then they would "buy back the lease". He said they are a huge company and they "do it all the time", it would be no problem selling it to someone else. Yeah right! Another lie!

He said their tech support was developing something that would enable us to use our POS with their system, and after six months of "we're working on it", or "Raul is out until next week", or "didn't he call you back?" so apologetic! I was losing patience with Chris, who by then wasn't taking my calls, and looked up "Alpine Payment Processor's" web page to remind him that I shouldn't be having to jump through these hoops, and that according to their site, and we shouldn't have to get new equipment! And their rates were guaranteed to be lower! And it said 24 hour customer service!! I emailed it off to Chris, but he didn't respond back. No surprise!

So I called Chris and asked him why I was having to lease new equipment, and pay more for processing, and what about that 24 hour service? He didn't know , but he would bring it up with his boss...

It wasn't until months later that I found out that the website that I had forwarded to Chris, wasn't 'their Alpine', but Chris never told me that!! It was another credit card processor with a similar name!

Then when we finally received the 'PC Charge', the thing that was supposed to make everything work, all the registration numbers and bank numbers he gave me were wrong! I spent hours trying to install it on my computer, many calls to PC Charge's tech support, emails to customer service, three hours time ($!) to an IT person, only to find out all the information it took weeks to get from him was for a different version of PC Charge. Alpine has terrible customer service!! I can't wait to be done with these people! It was only after I reported them to the BBB that someone else, higher up, called to say they wanted to make things right. They haven't!

Don't believe anything they tell you. And get it in writing.
