America's Servicing Company RIP-OFF refused to do a modification of home loan when it purchased loan that was already in the process of modification Frederick Maryland
My original home mortgage was with Altegra out of PA. I knew the company I was working for was going to be closing its doors and I asked Altegra to do a modification of our loan. Credit was not great but husband and I were both working.
Just at the finalizing of the modification, I received a letter from Altegra stating they sold our loan to America's Servicing Co.
ASC reps (2 months later) said they would work with us and had us fill out all the forms and submit all the documents. Ending result... NO.
So now we are 3 months late, they will not accept any payments and the day I called they just sent it to foreclosure and I have to pay legal fees on top of late fees, etc. What could a lawyer possibly charge that hasn't even received the file yet? ASC refused to stop the proceeding and now asked me to fill out the same form and documents as when they bought out our mortgage in December 2003.
ASC is a group of investors that will NOT talk to anyone who has a loan with them. I was told you fill out the documents and they are presented to a round-table of investors and that their decision is the final answer.
I can't get a mortage, I still don't have employment, should I just put the For Sale sign out before they do a "quick sale" and I loose all equity, which is double what the loan balance is, at least it was before the lawyers tac on their fees.
If they just would have done the modification when I asked instead of telling me "you can afford it".
