with bad credit rating, Ameriquest easily took us on as customers. 30 yr no fixed interest - huge mistake wemt from 9% quickly to 11.75%

as we ran 3 weeks behind in payment for an entire year..each representative said the same thing when calling in payment - "don't worry about late fees now, we'll work on them later" This built up to 1,100.00 This amount comes into play at the end of this complaint.

one month, 2 dates were set up for payment, automatic withdrawl from bank account. Needed a 4 day extention on one of the dates. Spoke to a manager "Tony" and asked for the four days extention. Instead he went on to humiliate and lecture about paying mortgage on time and kept saying "Lady, you gotta pay your mortgage" "Borrow the money" I told him that the only person in the whole world who could help me was my mother who is dying of brain cancer.

He would not back down. Kept saying "Lady, do you understand me? You gotta pay your mortgage" I hung up sobbing. I managed to find a friend to help with that payment. I noticed that the payment was not coming out of my account as scheduled, called amc and a woman told me that my scheduled appoints where canceled by "Tony" stating 'requested by customer'

Feeling this was a deliberate sabotage to my acct, I asked for the highest in management's phone number. A secretarty told me that she was the highest i could get, when I called the number. I asked the owners name and was told he could not be reached. His name sounded foriegn, is this company even in the USA? After explaining my situation, she asked. "And what is it exactly that you want us to do?" My reply was to keep an eye on this man to protect my acct. That was the extent of that - no satisfaction

Now come Feb 2006 I am late again. Get a letter that I am sold to another mortgage company, who is a debt collector as well. We recieved letters giving us 3 week to make 2 $1300.00 payments and $1,100.00 late fees or they will demand the mortgage loan in it's entirety and foreclose A total of $3,700 in 3 weeks!

What ever happened to adding a late month to the end of the loan? Why no help for a customer when they ask for a 3 to 4 day extention? Instead deliberate tampering of scheduled payments and waiting for the right moment of a customers desperation to strike. In selling the mortgage to a company that they know will forclose within 3 weeks

I hope anyone looking into mortgaging with Ameriquest reads all the complaints. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

Well yes their is something you can do legally because what they are doing is not right. over inflated appraisals telling you your monthly payment is one thing and it turns out to be way higher not having a 30 year fixed but one they adjust after 2 years sometimes as high as 15 persent sending over a courier that isnt even a notary to sign papers. in some cases that i have heard on here from other people is having their signature on papers that isnt even your wrighting or my favorite saying you make more than you do or say you have extra income. One lady i have talked to even said that ameriquest said that she was also self employed! So yes you can do something about it and it needs to be stopped!!!! good luck to all GOD BLESS

Sorry - the branches sell you your loan and that's it, AMC services is the one who maintains the account

I feel bad for your situation, all I can tell you is that the branches can not do anything for you. You can only call AMC Services to help with your account. The reason this is because AMC Services and Ameriquest are technically two seperate entities, and one can not do anything with the other. the branches sell you your loan and that's it, AMC services is the one who maintains the account But this is only advice, you are blaming them for being continually late with your payments. Although they are doing nothing to help you, they are only doing their job by acting on your agreement to pay back the loan. They don't have to do anything if they dont' want to. Yes, its piss poor customer service, but you really have no gripe with them legally. Best of luck
