Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Purchased HDTV/surround sound system/Blue Ray DVD (and all the other crap they INSIST you need) on 05/08/2207 from the Best Buy in Victorville, CA. I should have known something was wrong from the git-go when the saleslady had trouble just ringing the order up. It should have been a hint of "all the fun" to come. Bill was $3000.00 give or take a few bucks. Picked up the TV a few days later and delivered it myself. Paid for "installation by Magnolia Home Theater," a Best Buy company. We also paid for "optimization" for $300.00. Installation and optimization was scheduled for the following week. Tech shows up, spends 30 minutes hooking up a few wires and the rest of the time desperately trying to "up-sell" me on anything under the sun that I did not need. Says I need to spend $300.00 just to have the REAR speakers of the surround system THEY sold me installed. Since I have now gone from 1 remote (old TV) to 5, I need the "super-special" $200 remote that will do everything, including raise my kids through college. Make appointments for all this crap. Guess what ? Magnolia NEVER shows up. Gosh, what a surprise. They LOST me in the computer, even though the tech (Joe DeLaGuerre) had asked HIS boss WHY he was not going to my house after one missed appointment and NO calls. Call again, work my way through numerous "customer service dweebs" (uh, I DON'T have the authority for THAT-please HOLD...) Numerous days/calls/hold times later they show back up. By this time, I installed my own speakers. Now these genius's can't figure out how to program it after 3 hours, so "maybe we need to come back next week"....Customer service manager is contacted promises $150 gift card for our trouble and guess what else NEVER COMES. Now, "Christy" is denying it was ever offered. In short, if you HAVE NOT purchased a home theater system yet and are considering Best Buy, PLEASE look ELSEWHERE. They DO NOT answer their phone (not even Corporate in Minnesota) nor can they or will they do anything to help you after the sale. They make promises they have no intention of keeping. All they want to do is up-sell you MORE crap you really don't need. Remember, this company is so desperate for your money they try and sell you magazine subscriptions every time you use a credit card. I was looking forward to changing to HDTV, but Best Buy's predatory tactics and utter LACK of any semblance of COMPETENT customer service has ruined it for us. I will never spend a dime of my money in their stores. Their tech's know absolutely nothing, but keep reminding you of what you really "need".....

Update to Original Post on Best Buy-Victorville, California

Sale occurred 05/08/2007, not as shown in original post. Although Best Buy is headquartered in Minnesota, the sale occurred at the Victorville, California store. However, corporate customer service was and still is, absolutely NO help at all.
