Capital Acquisitions & Management Harassing phone calls on fraudulant debt Rockford Illinois
This company contacted me regarding a 15 year-old credit card debt that was the result of a fraud. When I refused to settle they told me I had no integrity and contacted an attorney in Utah who started to harrass me daily. Finally, my attorney had to get involved to get this stopped. While I agree that persons who 'DO' create debts they don't pay should make restitution, I encourage all of you to find another way to settle than giving money to CAMCO. Giving them money does not resolve your debt with the orgianal lender, it just enables them to harrass more people. I strongly encourage anyone contacted by this company to fight it! Read up on the Fair Debt Collection Act and find out your options. Bottom line, if the debt is past the Statute of Limitations for your state, they can ask you to pay it, but that's it. They can't legally harrass you, or threaten you, or ruin your credit. Consider making a donation to a charity for your past trangressions. Lee Odessa, Texas
