Capitol One Auto Finance Lost 2 payoff checks reapplied payoffs for months finally applied payoff so they benefited Plano Texas
I started a refinance of my Jeep in early December, with a new finance company (to pay off Capitol One Finance because interest rate was very high). Capitol One Auto Finance lost 2 payoff checks from the new company.
Finally after numerous calls from myself and the new finance company they received the check in early January. They said the new finance company didn't call for a payoff and they were "doing me a courtesy" by applying my payoff back to December 12, 2003. Even though we had proof of deliver for both payoff checks.
Capitol one reapplied the payoff at least 4 times, until they ended up keeping most of the refund I should have had. I have dozens names and dates of people I spoke to at Capitol One. They would hang up on me, be rude and lie to me about when the payoff would take place and how much I would receive as a refund. They finally sent a refund check and I received it 4/14/04, for $156.00, they original refund was $587.
In late December (when they had already lost 2 payoff checks) Capitol One called me 7 times or more a day telling me I was behind on my payment. They promised to put me on a "do not call" list, they never did. CAPITOL ONE AUTO FINANCE, IS A BIG RIP-OFF!!!!!
