Car city took us for a lot of money! We purchased a car through a TNT auction that Car City sells their cars through. The car was advertised as having a bumper to bumper warranty and a clear title. This is not the case at all. Our warranty is voided due to the fact that the car has been in a major accident. Our title is only "clear" in a couple of states. The car has all kinds of issues and it is a 2012.

The truth is that Car City goes around to states with low standards on their laws regarding stamping titles and purchases salvage vehicles for really low prices! Then they turn around and sell the car to you for double what they paid and present it with a clear title even though in most states the title would say salvage.

I contacted the DMV here in UT and filed a complaint. They were very kind but told me that legally there was nothing they can do for us. This isn't illegal due to Colorado's ridiculous laws. It is immoral though. It needs to stop.

Our car is worth less than half of what we paid for it. This completely drained us. I have a family and I cannot put them in this unsafe car.  The car is junk and I know there are others out there who are in my shoes. Car City needs to be stopped! Please be aware that the vehicles on their lots are salvage vehicles that have been purchased at insurance auctions! The DMV told me that is where my car (and several other cases) came from! Please stop them!

Stay away from vehicles that have ever had a Colorado title and also stay clear of Car City!

I guess I should say stay away from all "wrecked vehicles" coming out of Colorado unless you are getting them for a fair price.  There is a good chance the accident was a major one and that everything was not fixed! Check car fax and auto check. Just so you know our autocheck came up clear so check both. Neither is 100 percent accurate!

I am talking about vehicles that are not getting stamped with a salvage title because Colorado lowered there standards on what is considered a salvage vehicle. Most states have the same standarda as the insurance companies. So if an insurance company declares a car a "total loss" it gets stamped as a salvage car. In Colorado this is not the case. The cars have to have a higher percent of damage done (80) to be stamped on the title. I think people have a right to know on their title that their car has received 75 percent damage in an accident. I am not talking about changing salvage title back to clean titles. I do want to steer clear of cars from states that don't have the same laws on such things as my state because I can't be sure what their definition of a "clear title" is.
