Craftmatic Beds Sales Agent Training Ripoff Scheme Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
I left a good paying job in Ohio to attend a 2 day Sales Agent course for Craftmatic beds in Pittsburgh, PA last year. I paid a corporate rate for my hotel room and got free drinks. You have to pay for a sales kit $150 and your gas to/from site is refunded. They tell you that you will be paid $50 for each presentation or you can take the commission and I was told on the phone $75 for gas a week. A lot of fast talking from guys in cheezy suits I might ad. At the end of the sales training I was told there was no longer a gas allowance. My first few appts. were bad. Appt. setters supposedly screen these people. One was a 100 yr old lady with alzeimers who wouldn't let me in and another one was a lady who was unhappy with her craftmatic beds and finally just gave them to some relatives. I explained to the office mgr that I didn't have the gas money to run the appts...this job wasn't working out and I would no longer go on appts. She told me 2 appts. were already booked for me and I would be charged $50 for each missed appt.! I had to complain to the BBB, the PA Dept. of Labor, and other websites, make numerous calls, and send them the compalint letters to get my $150 back for my sales kit.. finally after 2 months I got a check in the mail for $150! In the meantime, I had to beg to get my old job back. Check out any business venture out thoroughly!! I saw on one website a man wanting to start a class action suit against Craftmatic.
