Complaint Review: Custom Furniture World LLC - Deerfield Beach Florida

The owner Dina posted a fake discount code which is STILL posted on her facebook page for her vintage industrial line for 15% off. It was posted on July 3 and was obviously never activated. Both my daughter and I tried to use the code throughout the month of July and only received the message"invalid code" .  I left a message on the merchant's facebook page to let her know I had problems w/the code under the ad for the discount and never received a response. I then got on her website customfurnitureworld.com and noticed it said someone was available for chat. It was the owner Dina. I let her know I had been interested in making a purchase and had tried using the advertised code(VIN15) and it hadn't worked. She responded w/"oh, it only worked for a short time" I responded that I had tried it throughout the month of July and it NEVER worked, and asked her if perhaps it had been a systems glitch. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and also allow her the chance to rectify the false advertising. She then said that she had the furniture piece(schoolhouse locker) that I was interested in on sale now and was offering free shipping that she wasn't offering before. I explained I saw the price the prior month and it was the same price now as it had been and free shipping had been offered w/the discount before as well. So in essence, the current price was the same regular price as before w/no new discount or incentive. She failed to give a reason as to why the code never worked, and actually avoided the issue. She then said she needed to check w/her supplier to check availability and she would get back to me via email w/her best offer on the piece. It was obvious to me at that point that the code was never activated intentionally, and she knew it! My hope was that she was going to honor her discount as advertised since she could not provide me w/a reason the code didn't work. Unfortunately that was not the case. Today i received an email from Dina that I have cut and pasted below:

I found out that we have that shoe locker coming in stock on September. I looked at some of my competitors websites and found that I am significantly lower priced. In fact, I have to rethink my pricing on it because when I include Free Shipping, it just does not make sense on my end.

If you would like to purchase any products at the current price points, you can do so until next Monday.

I was shocked to see that not only had she not addressed the fake code, but had no intention of rectifying the situation. She instead gave me an ultimatum. Saying that I had until Monday to order them at her original price and then she would be raising prices even more! No mention of honoring the advertised discount or even mention of why the discount was posted and the code never activated. I have also shopped this item around and am aware of three stores that currently carry it at a lower price. I can provide those store's names if necessary. just let me know. Also, one store has a slightly higher price when including shipping, but they also offer price match. I plan on buying the item from one of these businesses instead. I initially considered Dina's store because w/the discount her price was the best. Without the advertised discount though she was slightly more expensive even w/free shipping. I decided to file this complaint after dealing w/Dina the owner directly and coming to the realization that she intentionally is misleading customers and providing false advertising.

I have filed a report w/the BBB and the owner's response was that I was a disgruntled customer that was upset that she didn't honor an old discount code a month later! I tried that code the day after she posted it and multiple times a week after that and it never worked! I posted my problem w/the code on her facebook page and she never responded! I told her all this and she never refuted any of it until i filed the claim w/BBB. Then she stated the code was for overstock items only but as you can see from her ad below nothing of that was stated in the ad at all. Also, she never addressed what dates the code would be valid either. Isn't it safe to assume that if a discount is posted one day, then it would be valid the next unless otherwise stated? We have gone back and forth via email and she has not once stated when and what dates the code was valid for. She refuses to address it completely. I am telling you do not do business w/this women. She went as far as to say that asking her to honor the discount ,which she offered, would prevent her from feeding her family! She even said she was only going to make 30.00 on the item at the current price point. I asked her why she offered the discount in the first place and she did not answer that either!! Obvious scam to attract customers!
