I just wanted to publicly say how horrible of an excuse for a restaurant East Ridge Diner is. I worked there for these past two years, so I know first hand. One of the few "perks" of the job was that I'd get a free meal with each shift. However, often times I found myself so disgusted by the way the food was handled that I'd opt out of dinner just to save myself the stomach ache. The kitchen is repulsive, sweaty, UNGLOVED cooks handling the food. Pasta is made at the beginning of the day and kept in dirty buckets at the cook's feet until some unknowing victim orders it. The bread is more often than not moldy. Most of the ingrediants they use are long expired, and the salads that are "freshly tossed" are bagged and usually months old. For 2 years I've held my tongue, but I've watched too many good people consume their disgusting food. One time, I watched a waitress drop a fish fry on the ground, pick it up, put it back on the plate, and serve it. The waitresses there don't care about making sure you enjoy your meal, and if they seem to it's only because they're hungry for a tip. Also, if you place an over over the phone, the waitresses all argue about who has to take it. You see, if the customer doesn't show up to get their food, management forces the WAITRESS to pay for it, whether it be $5 or $50. Seems a little on the illegal side if you ask me. As if that wasn't enough, the management is increadibly racist. My manager would always ask me for friends of mine that would want jobs (too lazy to look through the applications apparently.) One time, when asked this, I showed her a picture of my African American friend and she scoffed, replying with "any white friends?" Apparently minorities are only suited for the back of East Ridge Diner, aka their entire dishwashing staff. It is the worst place I've ever worked, and without a doubt the worst place I've EVER dined. Funny how the only time they have things moderately cleanly is when they're expecting a visit from the health department. I encourage you not to give your money to these people. East Ridge F***** (((REDACTED)) Restaurant, a couple blocks down the road, is a much better alternative.
