I was nearly scammed by Erin Pitcher. She listed 2 2008 Seadoo's with trailer on Craigslist for $4,800.00! That price is about a 1/3 of what they are worth. At first I just thought I was getting a sweet deal! She told me that she had just moved to Canada after her husband died to be closer to her "very" old parents. She didn't the the Seadoos anymore and needed the money. So I ask her details about them such as Hours of use, Location, Pickup/shipping terms, if there were leins ya know just general stuff. She replied that they are located at a shipping company in Quebec and that she would cover the shipping. She was going to use EBAY THIRD PARTY to handle then money process so that we were "both" protected. She never gave me any hours of use report either. This went on and on for a couple days with me asking details and her not giving any. I read all over the internet about the Ebay third party scam and that there is no such thing and that Ebay will not cover or protect any purchases that are not done through their site. So I then start questioning her about this and ask to talk to her on the phone. She replys with..I was hoping to avoid this embarrassing situation with you but you leave me no choice. You see I was involved in a car accident a long time ago that left me with a hearing disability and can't use the phone. Okay so she can ride a Seadoo but can't hear? So, I confront her and say that I would like VIN numbers or Registration numbers to verify with Seadoo that this is legit. I told her that I wanted to do this for my security and safety. She never gave any specifics whatsoever. I could smell a rat from the beginning. So I get an email back after I was pretty to the point about knowing about all the scams and that she should provide details about the Seadoos to back up her story. A little while later I get this Email... I already sold the Seadoos. Thanks, Erin... Yeah sure you did!!! She knew I was on to this whole scam! I hope I have provided some information for someone out there. Its because of the info that everyone else provided to me that I didn't get scammed. I just want to save someone else the trouble. STAY AWAY FROM EBAY THIRD PARTY PURCHASES!!! Scam, Scam, Scam
