I have filed a complaint letter with the BBB regarding the burn I sustained at my appointment on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 12:30 pm. The staff were friendly to compensate for the long wait, however, my appointment was rushed. The attendant started my pedicure at 1:30, and half way through the procedure I was told we needed to get the massage underway as they were under time restraints. The groupon I purchased was $39.00 which included, a 60 minute full body massage, manicure and pedicure. I got undressed and ready for my massage at 1:45 pm. During the massage, an attendant used hot stones on my back (which was not apart of the package, I figured it was to compensate for the long wait.) I do have a slight tolerance to heat, however the attendant never adjusted the rocks or asked if they were ok or checked my skin. I work in the healthcare field, and its is MANDATORY to check the skin for inflammation before proceeding to a treatment of any sort. It must have been CLEAR to the attendant massaging my back that the rocks had burned my skin, but failed to inspect the burn or indicate that I could have been burned. I have a chronic shoulder problem, so whenever I get massages I feel discomfort. I attributed the soreness to me not having a massage in a long time. The attendant then finished my massage at 2:15pm. I did not bother say I was supposed to get another 30 mins of massage as I felt rushed by the staff and I was already at the appointment an hour longer than expected due to the long wait. After the massage, the attendant finished my pedicure and I had to scrub my own hands because the attendant had to attend to another customer. It seems the staff were more concerned in getting repeat clients by pushing the coupons. Despite the rushed service, I was considering coming back in the future as I thought maybe the staff would remember they rushed my appointment and tipped very well, so I would actually get good service the next time around.  When I arrived at home and was about to shower, this is when I realized I had been burned by the hot stones. I had 3 large blisters around a tattoo on my upper back near the spine.My upper back was inflamed, red and sore. Once I discovered the burn, the possibility of coming back as a return client was out the window. After rushed procedures, long wait and burns I would not feel comfortable coming back for any procedure even it it was complimentary. Now, the blisters have scabbed over but are still causing discomfort. Your company did not honour the coupon I purchased as I only received a 30 minute massage. I received a bad burn that ruined the experience that caused discomfort while I should have been relaxed after the treatment. It doesn't matter how friendly you are about that, there's something sneaky and coniving about making a customer wait and rushing through their appointment. If you are afraid that people aren't going to tip, then don't offer your services at a discounted rate. I am asking you refund the $39.00 plus the $20.00 tip and taxes I paid for the spa package, as you did not honour the package in its entirety and I sustained an injury that will probably leave a faint scar on my tattoo. I am seeking compensation for transportation I had spend for a taxi cab after my appointment as I was expecting to be done my appointment at approximately 2:30pm, but was finished at around 4:15pm due to the long wait. I was supposed to take city bus home to then get ready for an event at 6:30pm in the GTA. I had to take time away from the party to call your spa and notify them of the burn I had received. My cab fare was $24.00 from the spa to my home. I will gladly provide a receipt of transaction if requested. My request is generous considering all of the issues I encountered on my visit to your spa. If you do not respond to my requests, the BBB will intervene and my complaint will be public for people to see on the BBB website.
