G J Thomson & Associates Poor treatment of employees Oakleigh Victoria
This report is not to save people money but rather to HELP them to keep their self esteem intact instead of losing it all together by working for this awful company. An employer is supposed to help his/her workers feel secure and valued in their role at that company but Greg Thomson's evil Office Manager was too d**n difficult to work for. All she ever did was make me feel inferior and so nervous all the time that I had tension headaches constantly and lost a lot of sleep. I was only there a few days per week yet dreaded waking up on each of those days and having to face that workplace.
I worked there for a few months and she always had some sort of issue with me, yet I did my utmost to fit into the office environment which was uncomfortably small and I am an extremely sociable person! Yet these people were too hard to connect with. Even another of their employees had issues with me and I was nothing but kind to her. Just because these ignorant people have had vast experience and training in the insurance industry and I didn't, I was made to feel stupid and my work efforts were never good enough while I was there.
Also, it is very inappropriate for a person in authority such as this office manager to discuss people's private lives and talk about others in a derogatory manner, yet she did this constantly. It made me sick to my stomach to hear her put people down, thinking she was so superior in this human race yet she did not realise that the whole time, she was just perceived as a bitter old grump who needed to get a bit on the side! I pitied her for being so judgemental and nasty when what she should have been doing was being happy that she was in such a position of authority and being a positive example to the employees.
So my advice to anyone considering applying for a job at this firm is RUN, run for your life and don't even go there because you will be nothing but disappointed (unless you're an a** kisser who fits in with a bunch of snobs who are out of touch with reality). I know I am not the only former employee who feels this way. Many of their past employees I've heard were dissatisfied with their treatment whilst at this firm.

To anyone who reads this accusation about GJ Thomson & Associates.
I would just like to set the record straight on a couple of accusation made in this information This lady was offered a position with this company on a part-time basis, 3 days a week, her position required her to answer phones, type and do the filing.
She was a very good typist but was unable to do all the filing due to her medical situation and several of our clients complained about her attitude on the phone. We tried to encourage her with this but she flatly refused to take direction and continued to be brusque when talking to our clients.
When she worked with us there were four females in the office. This lady claims that she is friendly but by her own admission, she hated the evil office manager, could not get on with one of the other staff members and spent time gossiping about the office manager with the final staff member in the office.
This staff member, who she claims she did get on with, asked us not to give out her contact details to this lady and changed her mobile number to stop her calling.
This lady claims that the evil office manager made her sick making derogatory comments about people, but she seems not to have a problem slurring our company name and the staff she worked with, who did everything possible to make her feel included and comfortable.
The evil office manager lent this lady money out of her own pocket to get her through to pay day and also had all the doors opened in the office to keep this lady cool to the detriment of the other staff members.
GJ Thomson & Associates gave her training and asked her every week if she had any problems or needed help but each time, help was rejected. After trying for months to get this lady to work within the framework of the rest of the office, it was decided that she would not be offered a permanent position with us.
Please do not judge our company on this ladys account of working with us, we are happy for her to come in and make these claims directly to the people she is slurring.
